- Creator Backlash: The mod is not a fan of the arc involving Tony's jealousy of Colin, nor of much of the older art.
- What Could Have Been:
- A clear lead-in to Tony having a crush on Laptop was never followed through because the mod preferred to keep things platonic between the main cast. Word of God has it that he would have eventually gotten over it anyway.
- Tony and Sketchbook's relationship was slated for a Bittersweet Ending after the release of DHMIS 6, with the two forced to separate after being assigned to different groups of students. Of course, interpreting the three students at the end of 6 as entirely new characters implies that the teachers only deal with them three at a time.
- A scrapped subplot for the "Colin's Dead" arc would have seen Laptop being trained to replace him as the computer teacher.
