• Author's Saving Throw: In order to fix some of the damage caused by the episode, the AT crew confirmed at San Diego Comic Con 2014 that Flame Princess and Cinnamon Bun are not dating.
• Magnum Opus Dissonance: In an interview with io9, Adam Muto told that he and the crew were really proud of the episode, but he was shocked when he saw the negative reaction from the fans on the internet. To this day, "The Red Throne" is one of the series' least popular episodes, especially by Finn/Flame Princess shippers, and the bitterness over how clumsily the ship was sunk still lingers in the fandom.
