Trivia / Adele

Go To

  • Creator Breakdown: Probably inverted and justified. Adele was actually nervous when trying to come for songs for 21 because she wasn't getting many ideas. After writing one song about how she felt unappreciated by her (cheating) boyfriend, and having him listen to it, they fell out and she wrote down most of the songs for the album. "Someone Like You" was the also the result of not only her not wanting to always sound like a bitch but her confronting the fact that she isn't totally over him and he's married to someone else.
  • Meaningful Release Date: Skyfall was released at 12.07am (0.07 using the 24hr clock) on October 5, 2012 (the 50th anniversary of the release of the film version of Dr. No).
  • Rarely Performed Song: Despite its strong critical praise and live-friendly sound, Adele refused to perform "To Be Loved" past a sole prerecorded video of her singing it in her living room. In an interview, she clarified that the song, which documents her attempts at explaining her divorce to her son, is so personal that "I can't even listen to it [...] I have to leave the room, I get really upset, I get really choked up."
  • What Could Have Been: Adele and Sia wrote "Alive" together for 25, and as such the song is about Adele. However, the song ended up on Sia's album, This Is Acting.
