Trivia / Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere

  • Bad Export for You: The international English version is still a really fun game when it comes to the gameplay, but the story went from being very complex and developed in the Japanese release, to an Excuse Plot in the English version, possibly due to the publisher considering the game to be a flop, huge costs in translation, and released a year before Playstation 2 were launched... A fan translation project fixed this, though... assuming you don't mind using an emulator or a modified console to play, of course.
  • Cut Song: The Japanese version does not use the Briefing theme specifically composed for this game. Only the US version does.
  • Fan Translation: From three teams, all from the Japanese version:
  • Multi-Disc Work: The original Japanese version came on two CDs, with the first containing the UPEO, General Resource, and Ouroboros I story branches, while the second contained the Neucom and Ouroboros II arcs, plus the extras. The exported version, on the other hand, fit on one disc, mostly because most of the original's story content was cut out completely due to hefty costs in translations.
  • What Could Have Been: One of the surfaced pieces of concept art mentions a faction called "Radical Air Force" that's nowhere to be seen in the final game and is speculated to be an early version of Ouroboros.
