- Breakthrough Hit: This album is what gave exposure to the band in the United States, with "Hysteria", "Stockholm Syndrome" and "Time Is Running Out" being the album's biggest hits.
- In Memoriam: The Absolution Tour DVD was dedicated to drummer Dominic Howard's father, who died of a heart attack after watching the band's Glastonbury 2004 set.
- Milestone Celebration: In the same vein as Origin of Muse and the Origin of Symmetry RemiXX, Absolution would also have its own 20th anniversary release & remaster.
- Rarely Performed Song: "Falling Away With You" was never performed live, only being teased a few times during concerts. According to bassist Chris, "it never really seemed to work" when played live.
- What Could Have Been:
- "Soldier's Poem" was originally intended for Absolution, originally having a more Hard Rock style as seen throughout the album. It was eventually retooled for Black Holes and Revelations.
- Matt originally intended to have "Fury" on the tracklist, but its slot was taken by "The Small Print" due to the preference of Chris and Dom for the latter.
