Trivia / A Tale of Winter

Go To

  • Actor-Shared Background: Félicie doesn't know Charles' last name, only that it's Dutch or Danish "with an en in it, or an er. Den, den, der." Charles is played by Frédéric van den Driessche.
  • Billing Displacement: Frédéric van den Driessche is billed second, but only has around ten minutes of screen time.
  • Similarly Named Works: There is a connection between this film and The Winter's Tale, but no connection with Winter's Tale.
  • Throw It In!: The scene early on where a man tries to maneuver around Félicie at the top of the steps of the Metro exit obviously wasn't scripted.
  • What Could Have Been: For the scene of the stage performance of The Winter's Tale, Rohmer's original idea was to make the film's connection to the Six Moral Tales explicit by having Jean-Claude Brialy (Jérôme) as Leontes and Françoise Fabian (Maud) as Hermione, but they were too busy with other work.
