Trivia / A Field in England

Go To

  • Bilingual Bonus: The runes that Whitehead vomits up spell I,W,D,O,R,R,M,H. Whether or not they actually mean anything though remains unclear.
  • No Budget: The film was made on just £300,000.
  • No Export for You: The Channel Four website and iTunes only allow users from the UK to download the film.
  • Playing Against Type: Most of the cast, namely Reece Shearsmith (Whitehead), Michael Smiley (O'Neill) and Julian Barratt (Commander Trower) are primarily known for their comedic performances. A comedy this most certainly isn't.
  • Throw It In!: Though the script called for Whitehead to have a Thousand-Yard Stare after being tortured, Reece Shearsmith decided on the spot to go for The Unsmile instead. Wheatley was so impressed with the result he kept it in the film.
