• The Danza: Matthew Goode plays vampire Matthew Clairmont. Since it's a book adaptation, in this case it's a coincidence.
• Fake American: Australian Teresa Palmer as American Diana Bishop. British Alex Kingston also plays her aunt Sarah.
• Ooh, Me Accent's Slipping: Alex Kingston's American accent is usually very solid, but occasionally her native English accent does peek through the cracks.
• Separated-at-Birth Casting: Sophia Myles and Teresa Palmer portray mother and daughter Rebecca and Diana, respectively, and look similar enough in facial features and coloring that they easily pass as related. Rebecca does look more like Diana's sister than mother due to their ages (Sophia Myles is only six years older than Teresa Palmer), though it works because Rebecca died when Diana was a child.
