Trivia / A Dangerous Life

• California Doubling: A Dangerous Life is set in the Philippines but largely shot in Sri Lanka (ironically mirroring The Year of Living Dangerously, which was set in Indonesia but largely shot in the Philippines itself). Although the Marcos regime had been deposed by the release of A Dangerous Life—its fall is the focus of the film's second half—it does depict the later years of the dictatorship and there were concerns it would still rankle amongst remnants of the regime.
