• Hostility on the Set: Gian Maria Volonte was at his most "difficult" during production of this movie. One anecdote claims that Volonte was so angry about his character's costume that he appeared on set one day in the nude to show his displeasure. He once started a violent argument with director Damiano Damiani while filming a scene; Damiani lost his composure and knocked Volonte off his horse with a punch, in front of the entire cast and crew.
