Pre-series

  • 2000 years ago:note  Daimaou attacks mankind with his Youkai minions. The Youkai are stopped by three holy men, the original forms of the Three God Generals, who develop the shinobi spell that traps Daimaou in the Seal Door. (Ep. 24)
  • 794: Daimaou, who would become king of the Youkai Army Corps, is born. (Ep. 37)
  • 994: The Three God Generals' pupil, Ninjaman is tricked into attacking humans having been misled to believe they were Youkai by a man who was himself a Youkai in disguise. The Three God Generals punish Ninjaman by sealing him inside an urn which is sent to drift in space for 1000 years. (Ep. 36)
  • 16th century: To face a recent rise in Yokai activity, the powerful Tsuruhime family formed a squadron of ninja known as the Kakuranger to deal with them, lead by Sarutobi Sasuke. After a long battle, the army of Youkai lead by Nurarihyon are sealed away behind a door on a secluded island. However, the scrolls for their giant forms become lost, leading to Jiraiya leaving Japan to go on a journey in search of them. (Ep. 1, 3, 26)
  • 1968: Sasuke/NinjaRed, the descendant of the legendary ninja Sasuke Sarutobi, is born.
  • 1970: Seikai/NinjaYellow, the descendant of the legendary ninja Seikai Miyoshi, is born.
  • 1972: Saizou/NinjaBlue, the descendant of the legendary ninja Saizou Kirigakure, is born.
  • 1974: Jiraiya/NinjaBlack, the descendant of the legendary ninja Jiraiya, is born.
  • 1979: Tsuruhime/NinjaWhite, the descendant of the legendary ninja Tsuruhime, is born.
  • 1984: Following his own research, the patriarch of the Tsuruhime clan attempts and fails to stop the Yokai forces of Daimaou as his partners Tarou & Jirou are turned into dogs; he is forced into servitude under them, becoming their tactician as a means to protect his daughter. (Ep. 30)
  • 1986: Gali, an American martial arts teacher associated with the descendants of Jiraiya, makes a deal with the Yokai Nue which leads to the death of the father of the modern Jiraiya in exchange for saving his daughter from a terrible accident. Regretful for what he had done, he ultimately takes in the boy to train him for his future duties as a Kakuranger and to ultimately kill him. (Ep. 28, 29)
  • 1991: The child of Kappa and Rokurokubi dies due to pollution and a weak body due to the sustained sealing of the Yokai's power behind the Seal Door. (Ep. 2)

Series1994

  • The Yokai Kappa tricks Sasuke and Saizou, the descendants of two of the five ninjas that defeated them in the past, into traveling to the island with the Yokai Seal and unlocking it, releasing a massive surge of Yoki energy and many sealed Yokai from within. After chiding them of their mistake, Sandayuu Momochi escorts the two to meet with the descendant of Tsuruhime and to join together as Kakuranger to defeat the Yokai threat. They are soon joined by the descendant of Seikai. The Kakurangers seal Kappa and Rokurokubi. (Ep. 1-2)
  • Sasuke undergoes training to learn how to master how to summon his Giant Beast General; while the remaining team are joined by the descendant of Jiraiya to gain their scrolls back from Azukiarai. The Kakurangers seal Oboroguruma. (Ep. 3)
  • The Kakurangers use the scrolls to merge into the warrior Muteki Shogun and seal Azukiarai. (Ep. 4)
  • The Kakurangers seal Nurikabe and Mokumokuren. (Ep. 5-6)
  • The Kakurangers seal Gakitsuki. (Ep. 7)
  • The Kakurangers seal Bakeneko. (Ep. 8)

  • The Kakurangers seal Kanedama. (Ep. 13)
  • Professor Yugami joins forces with Junior, the son of Daimaou, in order to further the Yokai's cause and solidify his leadership. The Kakurangers seal Keukegen. (Ep. 14)
  • The Kakurangers fight the Flowery Kunoichi Team for the first time (Ep. 15)
  • The Kakurangers seal the Shuten Douji Brothers. (Ep. 16)
  • The Kakurangers seal Amikiri. (Ep. 17)

  • The Kakurangers, fighting alongside the previous 4 Super Sentai defeat an invasion of Earth by the Emperor Daidas and his forces. (Super Sentai World)
  • The Kakurangers seal Umibozu. Junior uses the power of the sealed Yokai to capture the spiritual power of children in order to begin a ceremony to open a greater gate for Daimaou's revival. (Ep. 23)
  • When the Kakuranger have problems dealing with Umibozu, they are joined by Holy Stealth Beast Tsubasamaru to defeat it, but do not have enough power to stop Junior from starting the process of revealing the gate, sealing off all nearby humans and even raising the area to beyond their reach. Seeing the Kakuranger as unable to defeat Junior as is, Sandayuu send them on individual quests to find special scrolls in order to summon the full extent of ninja power alongside their God Beasts. (Ep. 24)
  • Sasuke gains the scroll for God Saruder for realizing the importance of protecting all life from the Yokai threat. The Kakurangers seal Ittan-momen. (Ep. 25)
  • Tsuruhime gains the scroll for God Kark for learning of the need to let her teammates fight for her as the leader of the Kakuranger. The Kakurangers seal Kasabake. (Ep. 26)
  • Saizou and Seikai gain the scrolls for Gods Logan and Kumard after choosing to not fight each other for the sake of power when the Yokai general Nue tries to make them crush their partner for their own selfish sake; but do so at the supposed loss of Muteki Shogun (Ep. 27)
  • Jiraiya gains the scroll for God Gammer after learning to forgive his former teacher Gali for murdering his father for Nue; it assists with all the Super Stealth Beasts to defeat Daimaou's herald. (Ep. 28-29)
  • Hakumenrou, the Yokai tactician, re-emerges but quickly is revealed to be Tsuruhime's father, who is confused by his alignment with the Yokai. As Hakumenrou works with Sandayuu to destroy the Yokai from the inside, the Kakuranger's mentor is killed by Junior as he realizes the connection. In revenge, Sasuke is granted the Hikarimaru to defeat the Yokai leader, then the team finally merge their God Beasts into Kakure Daishogun to defeat the leader (likewise killing Professor Yugami in debris) and save all the trapped humans; but despite this, Daimaou completes his passage into the human world. (Ep. 30-31)
  • The Kakurangers seal Nuppefuhofu. (Ep. 32)

  • The jar containing Ninjaman, the troublesome disciple of the Three God Generals, returns to Earth, where the Kakuranger rescue and release him for his assistance. The Kakurangers seal Bakuki. (Ep. 36)
  • Daimaou reaches 1200 years of age; during a battle on his birthday party, Muteki Shogun reveals itself as alive and realigns with the rest of the God Generals and Ninjaman. The Kakurangers seal Karakasa. (Ep. 37)
  • The Kakurangers seal Ushioni. (Ep. 38)
  • The Kakurangers seal Noppera-bo. (Ep. 39)

  • With his 1200th birthday, Daimaou releases Daradara, a gelatinous clone he uses to capture Ninjaman and suck away his power in order to empower it and force the Kakuranger in a corner. After his teammates are likewise captured and have their power drained, Sasuke discovers from Hakumenrou's research courtesy of Tarou & Jirou (assistants to Tsuruhime's father) the key to defeat the Yokai by attacking Daimaou himself, doing so and ultimately defeating the threat. Revealing that he knew that Hakumenrou was a traitor all along, Daimaou uses his power to turn him into a soulless being. (Ep. 42-44)
  • The Kakurangers seal Oumukade. (Ep. 45)

  • While searching for missing children, the Kakuranger stumble into an inn run by Yama-uba and Daidarabotchi, the estranged younger siblings of Daimaou. The ninja save the children and defeat Daidarabotchi, while Daimaou decides to punish his sister for acting on her own by empowering her and forcing her under his command. (Ep. 50)
  • Daimaou begins his ultimate plot against the Kakuranger by releasing the soulless Hakumenrou to cause havoc, forcing people's grief, anger and sorrow to further empower the Yoki Cloud to use for further empowering Yama-uba. Forcing Tsuruhime into a corner of killing her father to save everyone, she is stopped by her teammates as Tarou and Jirou emerge one last time to save their master before granting the last of their lifeforce to return him to normal. With a further empowered Yoki Cloud, Yama-uba grows giant and is constantly "defeated" and revived due to her brother's manipulations. Realizing that the courage, compassion and love of humanity will overcome the darkness, the Kakuranger destroy the Yoki Cloud and finally bring an end to Yama-uba. (Ep. 51-52)
  • In their final test, the God Generals take away the Kakuranger's powers in order to teach them how to defeat Daimaou. Realizing that his power is the embodiment of hatred itself, the team realizes that they must seal him away just as hatred is sealed away within the human heart. Returning to the island where it all began, the Kakuranger finally seal Daimaou back behind the Seal Door, using their Doron Changers to seal down the door so it never opens again, bringing an end to the modern Yokai threat. (Ep. 53)

Post-series

  • 1995: The Kakurangers fight with the Ohrangers to defeat Yokai Onbu-Obake and Baranoia's Bara Gear. (Ohranger vs. Kakuranger)
  • 2001: As one of the first 24 Super Sentai, the Kakurangers provide their support in the Gaorangers fight against Lost Highness Duke Rakushaasa. (Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai)
  • 2002: When Ninjaman's reckless attempt to save a girl from rampaging zoo animals resulted with the latter being bodily harmed and massive property damage, the Three Shinshou seal Ninjaman within a pot and placed it within Negakure Shrine. (Gokaiger ep. 45)
  • 2005: Ninja Red and Hurricane Red fight the Yokai Nekomata. (Ninninger Shinobi 7)
  • 2006: As one of the first 30 Super Sentai, Ninna Red's Red Warrior spirit is inherited by AkaRed. (Boukenger vs. Super Sentai)
  • 2011: The Kakurangers, among the first 34 Super Sentai, oppose an invasion of Earth by the Space Empire Zangyack in what becomes known the Legend War, ending with all Super Sentai sacrificing their power to destroy the invasion fleet. Dispersed throughout the universe, the powers ultimately resurface as Ranger Keys whilst the former Super Sentai disband. (Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger ep. 1, 199 Hero Great Battle)
  • 2012: A month following the defeat of the second Zangyack invasion, the powers of the 34 Super Sentai are returned to them by the Gokaigers. (Gokaiger ep. 51)
  • 2012: The Kakurangers, among the first 34 Super Sentai, are apparently defeated by Tsukasa Kadoya (Kamen Rider Decade), Great Leader of Dai-Shocker which seeks to wipe out the Super Sentai, opposing Dai-Zangyack led by Emperor (formerly Captain) Marvelous (Gokai Red) who are hunting the Kamen Riders. Infact, all the presumed deceased Sentai and Riders had been transported to the dimensional rift, from which they emerge to defeat the new Shocker-Zangyack Alliance. (Super Hero Taisen)
  • 2015: Ninja Red and Hurricane Red train the Ninningers. (Ninninger Shinobi 7'')
  • 2017: The Kakurangers, among the first 38 Super Sentai, provide their power for the Ninningers and Daiohgers to defeat Gillmarda. (Daiohger vs. Ninninger)
  • 2019: The Kakurangers are embroiled in the Super Sentai Strongest Battle. (Super Sentai Strongest Battle)
