Yumeji's parents drop him off at their friends the Tachibanas before they go to work.
- Yumeji and Isana first met each other.
One day when they were playing at the park, Isana fell off the top of the jungle gym. Yumeji's body saved her and got a scar on his right wrist.
- Around this time, the Dream Demon "Kyou Shiragi" took Yumeji's body as his vessel.
- The gatekeeper of the Gate, "Sheep" Merry Nightmare helped Yumeji by driving out Kyou but she somehow entered reality with amnesia.

"Pharos" Hercules found out that the Gate had no gatekeeper.
- Kyou gives Hercules some of his powers.
- Hercules kidnaps "Sonar" Clione and brings her with him to reality.
  - "Chaser" John Doe finds out that Hercules kidnapped a female Dream Demon and brought her with him to reality. John also learned that the gatekeeper was missing from the Gate.
- Hercules took Takateru as his vessel and Clione was forced to to take Miyuki as a vessel.
Yumeji, Isana, Takateru, and Mameyama become 1st year high school students.
- Yumeji, Takateru, and Saki became members of the Writing Club.

Hina becomes the unwilling vessel to "Chain" Noir.
Merry meets Isaac and his vessel Akiyama.
Merry meets Torcher and his vessel Aya Takazuka.
"Great Actor" Wiles begins to convert Dream Demons into clones of himself to take multiple human hosts.
- One of the Wiles clones touched the Gate and became a copy of Merry Nightmare. She regained some of her memories and gained some memories of the real Merry Nightmare. She took it upon herself to stop Wiles.

The Writing Club decided that they will review Yumeji's story when they return from summer break.

John Doe decides to go to reality to find out the truth of Hercules bringing Dream Demons to reality.
- Yumeji began getting dreams of being chased by cats.
Yumeji, Isana and her dad visited Ayumi's grave.
One day after visiting Ayumi's grave, Yumeji goes to the bookstore to pick up Isana's book.
- Yumeji meets Merry Nightmare.
