The cast of Ad Libitum

A stage play series produced by Movista (Tsukiuta, Identity V) starting in 2020. The series follows the adventures of a group of Angels and Fallen Angels, as they reincarnate as humans, and watch over their reincarnated friends as they live their human lives.

Each episode features four stories, A, B, C, and D, and each performance features a combination of two stories (e.g. AB, CD, AC, BD, etc.)

The series provides examples of:

  • Cast Full of Pretty Boys: The story is nice, but the real reason we're here is to look at all the Movista boys in suits.
  • Fallen Angel: They wear black and embody the Seven Deadly Sins.
  • Satan: Except that Satan (Wrath), Lucifer (Pride), and Beelzebub (Gluttony) are separate characters.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: The Fallen Angels embody these.
  • Seven Heavenly Virtues: The Angels embody these.
  • Virtue/Vice Codification: The stories generally revolve around the Fallen Angels trying to teach the Angels that things are not so simple, that they can't just label one path a sinful and expect humans to always choose another way, and that life is full of twists and turns, with outcomes that might surprise anyone.

Kuro to Shiro: Purgatorium provides examples of:

  • Purity Personified: Michael has a hard time understanding the harmful things humans do to each other. He asks Lucifer what the word "slave" means. He also gets extremely upset at what the incarnated Asmodeus does to his opponent.

Kuro to Shiro: Purgatorium: ad libitum provides examples of:

  • Kick the Dog: Almost every appearance of Asmodeus is this, but in the segment with the butlers, he literally shows up just to anger and provoke Marco.

Kuro to Shiro: Purgatorium: amoroso provides examples of:
