I got back to Earth and met my son who I'd left as a baby. He'd grown into a man older than I was. But not even that could kill the fascination for me. No, that died after the second trip. There was no more reason to come home. All my family and friends were long dead.
Hiro’s backstory. His beloved sister fell into a bad crowd, and the last time he saw her alive she was a prostitute and drug addict. Her death drove him into the Despair Event Horizon, and in his grief he murdered three people in broad daylight. They were the men who forced his sister into the lifestyle that led to her death, but he quickly became a wanted man. His only recourse to escape police was to borrow his friend’s identity (the real Hiro Takagi) and escaping into space.
