X-Factor Investigations

  • Issue #13 is full of these:
    • Guido's guilt over killing Henry Buchanan while under mind control is bad enough but it gets worse when you realize that the reason he ended up in Tryp's clutches in the first place was because Guido wanted a hypnotist that could help him ignore the pain his powers caused him. Tryp took advantage of an innocent man's misfortune to turn him into a sleeper agent.
    • Rictor's depression causes him to snap at Samson when the psychiatrist asks Rictor if he thinks he is unworthy of his codename now that he no longer has his powers.
    • Theresa's blatant denial that her father Sean is dead both sad and disturbing.
    • Monet reveals that she is still traumatized from her brother Marius turning her into Penance and even feels suicidal. She reveals that her "M" persona is an act and everyday she has to draw strength not to kill herself.
  • In Issue #16, Jamie tracks down a dupe whom he sent out to study religion. When he finds him, Jamie sees that the dupe has made a life for himself as a preacher and family man and even given himself the name John. The two have it out in John's study with John going as far as pulling a gun on Jamie because he doesn't want to be re-absorbed by him. However, John cannot bring himself to shoot Jamie and falls on his knees in tears, asking Jamie to "Make it quick". Jamie chooses not to re-absorb him.
  • Layla's time alone in the Bad Future, especially the part where she breaks down in tears in front of Cyclops and asks him to kill her.
  • The "death" of baby Sean, not mere minutes after being born. How did he die? He was the child of a dupe, so as far as Jamie's powers were concerned, was a dupe himself. And then there's Theresa's horrified reaction.
    • The above moment is preceded by Theresa finally accepting that her father Sean is truly dead.
    • And her reaction when Jamie returns from the future. She doesn't say anything to him, or follow up on the threats she made, she just flies away.
  • Guido getting shot and how it affects Monet. Seeing the usually haughty and aloof Monet in tears over someone she cares for possibly dying is very heartbreaking.
  • Issue #225 has Rahne feeling guilty for rejecting her child who was born a wolf-like creature.
  • Theresa's parting words to Jamie after she ascended to godhood as the new Morrigan. And the fact that she comes back to restore him when he's turned into a demon.

All-New X-Factor

  • Georgina is driven away from her dad who tells her he doesn't love her when she's clearly his world. The moment she's gone it's made clear that Harrison Snow blackmailed him into doing so and the alternative would have been worse somehow.
    • Then she learns that he wasn't her real father and she still had a mother. She gets kidnapped by her real father and then both he and her mother kill one another. This is all over the course of two days at the most.
