Basically, the entire film is one big emotional fest, but here are the biggest examples.
- When Cheryl discovers her mother's dead body at the hospital. The music of "El Condor Pasa" drowns her screams and tears but her despair is very evident.
- When Cheryl discovers she's pregnant and has the baby aborted. She goes to her car with her friend and tearfully puts herself down as a terrible human being.
- After a little boy she encounters sings to her, she breaks down, sobbing and silently calling out to her mother that she misses her. Significant because it's the first time in the entire film where she finally was feeling and expressing her grief in a normal way.
