Vindicators 2 was a 10 episode miniseries to serve as a prequel to the Rick and Morty episode "Vindicators 3: The Return of World Ender". The series may seem like a fun little flashback to see what happened before the episode in question, but every single episode just has so many depressing moments throughout...
Pro-Nouns
- One Million Ants attempting to make a dating profile to try and forget about Supernova, but becoming overwhelmed and giving up in their uncertainty on how to classify themselves genderwise.
Mercy Kill
- Supernova miscarring her and 'Alan Rails' (actually her and One Million Ants') child, sad in itself but what makes it worse is said miscarriage takes form in a giant explosion that destroys Dorian 5 just after she and Vance Maximus saved said planet.
Girls Night
- The deaths of Lady Katana, Diablo Verde, & Calypso. We knew they had died by Vindicators 3, but what we DIDN'T know until now was HOW; not in battle as previously thought, but instead by Supernova in a drunken stupor.
- Vance killing the bartender offscreen just so he wouldn't talk. Even sadder was said bartender was said to be a big fan of theirs.
Kintsugi
- The shortest episode but a poignant one as Alan is shown fixing a vase, only to summon a ghost train to run it over and break it again, then starts repairing it once more. All the while getting drunk on wine.
- To make matters worse, looking closely at the wine and how he opens it (breaking the top of the bottle on a tree stump) shows that there's shards of glass floating around in it. Alan doesn't seem to care.
Little Trains
- If the previous episode wasn't sad enough, we see Alan Rails was indeed looking forward to becoming a father, telling Supernova that he just wanted to forget the fact she miscarried their child (which again, wasn't even his in the first place). She tells him of a healer that could help him forget all about it, which would explain why Alan doesn't remember her being pregnant at all by Vindicators 3.
