  • According to an interview twenty years later, when Sayama was shot on by Maeda and left the company, most of the UWF shooters positioned with Maeda, but not all. Fujiwara, Takada and other wrestlers went to his house and pleaded with him to return, assuring that they could talk out any problem with the other side. However, Sayama refused and said he was retiring. Supposedly Takada, who was close to him at the time, even said "You are killing me with this, Sayama-san."
  • The death of UWF Newborn trainee Kazuo Horiguchi. According to Bas Rutten, it was Minoru Suzuki who accidentally broke his neck with a suplex during a training session (apparently either conducted by Yuko Miyato or Akira Maeda), which put him in a coma with convulsions and died after being taken to the hospital, he was only 18 years old. UWF had a memorial service for him at the UWF ROAD show on February 27, 1990. Rutten also recalls that his family used to show up at Pancrase events and that while Suzuki never talked about it, he would always take time to meet with them. Some people also mention that there was a shrine to him at the original Pancrase dojo.
    • It is also said that Kiyoshi Tamura visits his grave every year on the day of his death, since they both passed the UWF entrance exam together.
  • The end of Yuki Nakai’s MMA career. Some fans and people close to the events still shed tears when thinking about that night in Vale Tudo Japan 1995.
