- When Kathryn is desperately trying to get Cole to realize that he was not crazy and that he actually comes from the future, James explains that he wants to be crazy, just because it would mean he could stay in the past with Kathryn, without having to go back to the Crapsack World he belongs to.James: I want the future to be unknown. I want to be a whole person again. I want this to be the present. I want to stay here, in this time, with you.
- The ending. Cole is forced to assassinate Peters before he can spread the virus, with the scientists threatening to have José shoot Kathryn if he refuses, only to be shot to death by the airport's security before he can succeed. James loses his life pointlessly, and he was just a few moments away from escaping with Kathryn to see the sea for the first time ever. Even worse, it's revealed that James himself was the man he witnessed dying when he was just a child, which means Cole is in a Stable Time Loop of being traumatized as a kid, living through the near-extinction of humanity, and going through a series of events that end with him dying.
2015 TV Series
- The death of Ramse's girlfriend Elena, who is shot during an altercation with Jones's soldiers. When Ramse finds her, their young son is sitting there quietly stroking her with tears pouring down his cheeks.
