Tear Jerker / Thumbelina (1994)

• "Soon (Reprise)". It's a song about a mother desperately trying to assure herself that her lost daughter will eventually find her way home.
• The scene where the insects laugh at Thumbelina and call her "ugly". As one Youtube commenter put it, "This movie goes to show you that no matter how beautiful you are, some creep will call you ugly and it will still hurt." Ironically, she didn't think of it at first (With her saying "I'm ugly?" sounding like she was thinking if it was a good or bad thing, complete with a "hmm..."), but a few scenes later after she leaves, it begins to set in her mind, leading to her being sad in the verge of nearly crying... ("And the beetles say I'm ugly!...")
  • Not to mention how terrible her first day has been. Kidnapped, forced to be engaged, and shunned. Considering the crap she goes through, she took it rather well but still. The way Jodi Benson's voice trembles really sells it.
• "Jacquimo was wrong. Now I'll never get home. It's impossible. Oh, Mother, where can you be?"
• Once she receives the bad news that Cornelius is presumed dead, Thumbelina breaks down wailing. Ms. Fieldmouse was also pretty dismissive by saying "You're still young, there'll be another" and "nobody's perfect". It would be good advice on paper, but it was not what Thumbelina needed to hear.
• Thumbelina's reprise of "Let Me Be Your Wings," "Once There Was the Sun", which turns into a fantasy of her flying with Cornelius, whom she thinks is dead.
• Thumbelina crying at Jacquimo to stop talking when she can't seem to get through to him that Cornelius is dead.
• Crosses over with Nightmare Fuel, but Cornelius getting knocked off Buzzby and falling into the water as the frost sets in, his finger just breaking the surface and the Forget-Me-Nots getting caught on the digit before blowing past.
