Tear Jerker / The Pacifier

• Shane talking to Zoe about her late father.
• When Shane confronts a sulking Seth on why he joined the wrestling team even though he despised it. Seth's response is depressing.
  Shane: Seth, I don't understand unless you explain it to me. Why did you join the wrestling team if you hate it?
  Seth: I DID IT BECAUSE MY FATHER WANTED ME TO! Look, I know you're just trying to help, but don't! I can take care of myself!
  • What makes this worse? Mr. Plummer seemed like a genuinely loving father. He might not have even pushed Seth to join the wrestling team, if Seth had been able to tell him he wasn't interested.
• Crossed with Heartwarming: As Shane hugs Lulu goodbye, he picks her up and continues holding her as he stands up.
• Howard Plummer at the start of the film needed his family to know he was okay so badly that Shane indulged him instead of moving him along. The chopper was already compromised since the pilot was taken out, but if Shane hadn't given Mr. Plummer that moment to call his family, could they have gotten away? A question which will likely haunt Shane for the rest of his life.
