• December 18, 2014 (The Finale): After 9 awesome years, the Colbert Report signs off for the last time:
  Stephen: From eternity, I'm Stephen Colbert. Jon?
  Jon Stewart: Thanks for that report, Stephen. Here it is, your moment of zen.

  Stephen': (with a toy monkey in front of his mouth) I love you, Jon Stewart!
  Jon: (getting ready to do a retake) What are you doing today, Stephen?
  Stephen: I'm getting angry at liberals!
  • Stephen sings "We'll Meet Again", being joined by Jon Stewart, past guests, American soldiers abroad, astronauts, muppets, Smaug, and both crew and audience members.
  • The shots of the empty studio and recursive portrait from the fireplace.
  • For the final credits, the song 'Holland, 1945' plays instead of the usual instrumental. This is a tribute to Colbert's father and two of his brothers, who passed away in 1974 in a plane crash.
