In General

  • The Temtem Anahir is one you will get upon defeat of Dr. Hamijo. It has two traits: Trauma, which causes it to lose defense when hit with a physical move, and Flawed Crystal, which makes it take increased damage from certain types. This Temtem was artificially cobbled together with the worst type of tech imaginable; no wonder it has such awful traits.
  • In a dialogue tree with an NPC, Aina is brought up as the player's mother. The player can confirm this, or instead insist the fact that Aina is their foster mother and refer to their relationship as 'complicated'. Not only does this implicate the player as an orphan in the system, but also that they may not see Aina as their true parent.
  • The story of Temtem starts out innocent enough, with a familiar fantasy adventure plotline to become the best Tamer on the islands and defeating the Dojos. As the story progresses, it becomes less about becoming the best and more about stopping the developing war against Clan Belesto. The protagonist gets thrown into a world of war and experiences traumatic hardships (ex. surviving an crashed airship, getting thrown in jail, battling in a war, death of a best friend, etc), and are tasked with the heavy burden of being the only one to stop Belesto once and for all. That may be difficult enough, but the protagonist is still a just a kid.

Story

Tucma Questline
  • The Narwhal's crash landing in Tucma. The whole ship comes down and everything is destroyed. Multiple people, civilian or crew ship workers are hurt or missing. The player is stranded in an extremely hostile world with scavengers who are eager to rob you for scraps.
  • After being framed by a lookalike, the player is captured and thrown in jail for crimes they didn't commit. In an effort to clear their name, they don a cloak to hide their appearance, and literally beg the Dojo Leader to clarify the situation. And this is all while they're just trying to get help for the victims of the airship crash.
    • Through dialogue choices, the player can feel hurt by Max's betrayal, realizing how far they've gone. In some dialogue trees, the player pleads with Max to see reason, to no avail.

Kisiwa Questline

  • When Max finally realizes that Clan Belsoto has gone too far, it's far too late and they are thrown off the island. This happens right in front the player, who is both traumatized and furious at General X for doing this.
    • In select dialogue trees, the player can state that even if Max betrayed them, that they still thought of Max as their friend. This very thought is just heartbreaking.
  • After the battle, the player seems quite traumatized about Max's death. Konstantinos actually tells the player that Max had always admired them and that he hoped the two would foster a strong friendship.

Cipanku Questline

  • Anytime Max is mentioned, the player can state how they're still mourning and they can't believe it. Many NPCs will offer their condolences and advice when the player brings it up in dialogue.
  • The whole In Memory of Max questline is just this, which involves the player grieving Max's apparent death.
    • Both Berhano and the Player feel guilt for not being able to stop Max from going down the path they did.
      • In a dialogue tree, the Player wonders if Max joining Belesto was actually their fault. They may also state that despite growing up together, that they realized that they didn't know Max that well at all.
    • When the player returns home for the first time in what looks like a long while, Aina is delighted to see them, but realizes how troubled they look. When the player confesses to Aina what happened to Max, she tries to get them to stay a few days to recuperate, but they decline, stating they just can't rest. There's just too much on their shoulders now. Aina then solemnly tells their foster child to please return home after it's all over, just to rest.
    • The whole segment when the Player tells Fatima, Max's mother, about their death. The poor woman is absolutely shocked and heartbroken at this news. The player tries to offer their condolences, but she just demands to be left alone.
    • The player has to go through Max's stuff to look for clues to why they joined the Belsoto Clan. As they go through the items, they reminisce about their childhood with them, which is nothing but bittersweet.
  • After the completion of the Cipanku Questline, upon returning home, the player will find Aina gone and nowhere to be found. It's even worse since it's apparent that the player was eager to see their foster mother and she's just not there.
