Tear Jerker / Taeyeon

• Taeyeon has spoken openly about depression. In an episode of the 2014 reality show The TaeTiSeo she spoke of her loneliness:
  I stay home when I'm not working, so I feel I live meaninglessly. I hate being alone yet I wanna be alone.
• In the span of six months, Taeyeon lost her close friend former f(x) member Sulli, her father, and her grandmother.
  • In the case of her father, not only did he pass away on her birthday, but she was set to release a song called "Happy" the next day.
• Crying during this performance of her song "Gravity" in Singapore. She does her best to power through it, but she has trouble. Also serves as a heartwarming moment as her fans cheer to reassure her.
• Many of her ballads fall into this category. "And One" and "When I Was Young" are two particularly powerful examples.
