• In the manga, Ais actually passed out for a moment when fighting Udaeus, and she witnessed Revis slaughtered Tione and Tiona before trying to kill Lefiya, the despair in that chapter...
• How the manga handled the causalities of the battle on 24th Floor. The novels only mentioned some of Hermes' children died in the battle, while the anime didn't mention it at all. In the manga, however, we see several adventurers from Hermes' familia die buying enough time for the Ais, Bete, Lefiya, and the others to finish a quest. They're simply overwhelmed by sheer numbers and lose their lives buying more time, despite each of them having hopes and dreams they shared with one another. It's just very depressing to watch these characters you've come to know die.
  • And in the manga, Lulune first reaction to the reward of the mission on floor 24 was glee, but then remembered what it cost them and cried out that this isn't worth it.
• Bache was upset that Tiona learned how to read, meaning Tiona didn't need Bache to read her stories anymore. This made Bache sad and even the Tiona who was a child then noticed how lonely Bache looked.
• Tione and Tiona's backstory, Bete's backstory, Filvis' true backstory, they just got darker and darker with every character, don't they?
• In vol.10, the fight where Bell is forced to confront Ais to protect Wiene. Ais said from experience that monsters are only capable of hurting mortals, and they need to be destroyed. And during the whole fight, the small Ais inside her heart was crying, crying that it’s not fair that this monster has Bell to protect her when she doesn’t have a hero to save her from the darkness she’s trapped in.
• In the beginning of vol.12, Lefiya had completely closed off to the outside world, turned into a statue that even Ais can’t get her to react.
• Filvis’ death and Lefiya’s reaction in SO vol.11, just...Lefiya’s grief even caused her magic to leak without chanting spells.
  • And then there’s her real death in vol.12, Lefiya cradled her in her arms as she crumbled into dust, saying that she is the most beautiful person she’d ever met. Filvis had whispered that they will always be together before she disappeared entirely, leaving the echo of an unsaid promise.
  Filvis: We will always...be together.
