While the Shinkalion anime was aimed specifically at kids and is generally funny and enjoyable to watch, it has had a number of moments that would leave anybody's eyes leaking like a sieve.
- Shinobu has one of the most notable moments when he tries to resign as a Shinkalion driver, having one last simulated battle with his teammates before he leaves. This is when it clicks; having been asked about his favorite thing earlier and having had no answer originally, heartfelt goodbyes from his teammates and superiors as well as some farewell gifts make him realize that he enjoys being a Shinkalion driver more than anything. The second realization, however, is what starts the waterworks; it quickly dawns upon him that by quitting as a Shinkalion driver he would be leaving his friends almost permanently. Not long afterwards, he starts sobbing quietly and begins crying, and it doubles as a heartwarming moment when Akita offers to help him convince his parents to let him stay.
- Episode 59 sees Suzaku attempt to commit suicide for Seiryu's sake while he is further discovering the meaning of family. How do the others deal with it? They break down a section of track on the upper levels and create a makeshift bridge for Seiryu to reach who he considers the last of his family. He also activates the Black Shinkalion's Kurenai mode inadvertently, allowing him to make it across before the path closes. Although both weren't in their real bodies for this, Seiryu managed to convince her to reconsider her suicide run with a Cooldown Hug, and what comes during the session really gets your eyes dripping.
