Tear Jerker / Persona 5 Royal King Of Swords

Go To

It's a crossover between Dark Souls 3 and Persona 5.It is guaranteed to have sad moments.

  • The story begins with the Ashen One alone and walking stating that he has been alive for eternity and that he failed as a King.
  • Ash falls down and dies after walking a few steps after creating a bonfire.
  • The reveal that Ren lost the fight against Yaldabaoth and became so distraught that he refused to fight him again. In canon he was a confident and cocky person so to hear this is certainly sad.
  • The reveal that Ash was the last person alive on the world of Dark Souls. This means that every character who lived including Siegward, Patches and other characters have all died.
  • Ash as a Dark Souls character is a personification of tearjerker. Several things that we take for granted are things that he never experienced and his experiences in the world of Dark Souls have left their mark on him.
    • He has forgotten his entire identity.
    • He wished for a true and final death before coming to Japan.
    • He has no sense of taste.
    • He upholds that survival should come before doing good.
    • He has no care that once his task is over he will be sent back and possibly die.
  • Shiho does not leave due to Ash saving her from being raped by Kamoshida but the experience is so traumatic that she gains a Palace.
    • Even after her Palace is removed she still carries trauma and flies into a panic near any male except for Ash. She is unable to even hug her father.
  • Ash's blunt personality and lack of secret keeping causes Sojiro to be suspicious of him in the beginning and Ash certainly does not help matters. It culminates in Sojiro finding out that Ash is part of the Phantom Thieves and starts an argument that increases Futaba's PTSD. This is in direct contrast to Ren's and relationship with Sojiro.
    • In the beginning just before Kamoshida's palace heist Sojiro tries to stop him. The resulting argument causes Sojiro to stop talking to Ash and Ash feeling betrayed by the first person who helped him.
