Tear Jerker / One Piece Film: Z

• Zephyr's magnificent and heroic end.
  • To further elaborate, shortly after Luffy and Zephyr's final battle concludes, the Marines show up to intervene. Zephyr tells Luffy that Luffy has his own adventure to continue, and that he'll settle things with the Marines. Ain tries to stop Zephyr, but Aokiji creates a wall of ice to separate them, with Zephyr noting that Aokiji gave him a place to die. Ain slams on the ice wall and sobs before they all escape the island, while Zephyr fights his former students. As the fight goes on, one of the Vice-Admirals begins crying, as if they're destroying something they love. It's obvious none of them want to do what they're about to do, but they have no choice. There's even pain in the usually aloof KIZARU'S voice, him being implied to have been the one to finish him off. Zephyr says he'll give the Marines their final lesson, and shortly after he's killed in the battle. Ain and Binz are sobbing at his grave, and Aokiji tells them not to cry because Zephyr died exactly how he wanted, and that he was an incredible man. Few can listen to "Ocean Guide", the theme that plays during the entire scene, without tears welling up.
  • Just the Straw Hat's reaction to it all in general. The man they essentially went into war against is giving up his life out of respect for Luffy. The way they just sit and watch as his final battle unfolds, no words, no jokes or joyful laughter, just a moment of silence to the man who saved their butts.
• After getting shot by Z's seastone bullet, Luffy is knocked down and defeated. Z then takes Luffy's hat. As expected, Luffy gets up, but can't fight back because of the bullet. It's rather hard to watch.
• Luffy's minor Heroic BSoD after getting defeated by Z twice.
• When the Thousand Sunny was getting hit at early in the film, Franky yells out Sunny's name in anguish.
• Z's Dark and Troubled Past.
• The very last scene before the ending credits. It's one last flashback to Zephyr as a kid, showing how he liked to defend other children from bullies, as a self-styled hero called... Z. Even after so many decades, even after so much pain and bitterness, deep in his heart, he had always kept his dream of being a hero.
