• Mauricio Babilonia romance with Meme Buendia being cut short. To clarify: Fernanda didn't approve of it, so she ambushed Mauricio, making him paraplegic, and sent a pregnant Meme to a convent, where she became The Voiceless.
• The ending. Where Aureliano Babilonia finds out his actual relation to Amaranta (who's already dead from childbirth, and their own child has also died because of the ants), triggering a tornado that destroys the city forever, because the races condemned to one hundred years of solitude do not get a second chance on earth.
