An invested reader could find some scenes genuinely sad or heart-breaking, despite the lurid sex scenes in the manga.
- Kido:
- Kido's emotional breakdown upon learning that Yuri Kotobiki is cheating on him. Emiru offers her own embrace as comfort which Kido accepts.
- The subsequent breakup was a heart-breaking moment too, as Kido tearfully insists on the breakup despite Yuri clearly expressing her regret for what she had done.
- Kido's inevitable breakup with his second girlfriend Madoka was even worse. Unlike Yuri, Madoka never did anything that hurt her relationship with Kido. The only reason for the breakup was that Kido realized he loved Emiru more, and that he needed to play the bad guy for everyone's best interests.
- Emiru:
- Madoka's fury upon discovering that Emiru had forced Kido into a peeping relationship. After being informed of the purpose of the hole in the wall, Madoka insisted on having sex with Kido in his room, so that Emiru would hear and despair over her own loss (Earlier on, Emiru and Kido decided to stop their voyeuristic relationship). As shown, Emiru clearly didn't enjoy Madoka's verbal attacks.
- Both Tsugumi and Emiru made peace with each other towards the end of the series. Doubles as a Heartwarming Moment.
- Penultimate chapter 116, where Emiru fulfilled her earlier promise to completely disappear from Kido's life. It became a happy ending on the Timeskip final chapter though.
- Yoneyama:
- Yoneyama's reactions were genuine sadness (Despite the strong front he put up) when he learned that Rie hooked up with him not out of affection, but because she wanted to use the opportunity to destroy the dysfunctional relationship between Kido and Emiru.
