- Ece's suicide, especially since it happens so unexpectedly. She has been depressed for a while, being raped by her uncle and having to face an Arranged Marriage, but she seems more or less to cope with it. One day, she is joking with her two sisters during breakfast and her uncle gets upset, sending her away. Suddenly you hear a loud bang from the other room...
- The sisters spend time together at Sonay and Selma's wedding. Lale comments that this will be the last time that all of them will be together. The next time they see each other is at Ece's funeral.
- Lale comforts Selma at the wedding when she finds her crying. Trying to help, she tells her that she can run away, but Selma is too scared to do it.
- The Bittersweet Ending. Lale and Nur managed to escape their hell and Sonay managed to marry her sweetheart, but Ece is dead and Selma is married to a man she doesn't know or love at all. It is also unknown when and if Lale and Nur will ever see their older sisters again.
- Especially sad is Lale's dream sequence when she and Nur arrive in Istanbul. We cut from shots of Istanbul at dawn to a shot of Ece, Sonay, and Selma standing at the back of Yasin's truck, smiling at the camera and wearing the clothes they wore to the football match earlier in the film.
- Lale hugging her teacher and finally being able to feel safe.
