• And they seemed so happy together... You can almost hear both their hearts break: Gary, because Kiley is the first girl he's had actual sex with and he seems to be really, genuinely attracted to her, even though they have only known each other for a day; Kiley, because she really likes Gary, who does not mind (and actually likes) her boobs' size, and she is doing it to prevent Yuki (who she has been helping to get over her phobia, and is getting better) from relapsing.
• Yuki's decision to break up with Gary. In spite of the fact that it really was the best thing for both of them at the time, it still rings with a lot of sadness for both. Gary at that point was on the verge of a love confession, but it seemed that Yuki's decision to leave him crushed whatever hope he might have had and he is very upset by it even into the next comic. Yuki manages to save her dignity enough to get clear of the room before Sonya jumps all over him, but breaks down in tears and clings to Zii, but even that provides no comfort and she flees the apartment in tears.
• The Humiliation Conga Zii gets smacked with in 2017-2018: Hooking up with DiDi, whom she has lusted after since the strip began, has only caused everything in her life to fall apart. The distraction of their relationship interfered with her music, prompting Sonya to quit the band. When Yuki then called Zii about it while she was in bed with DiDi, Zii unwittingly suggested Yuki was replaceable, too. So Yuki quit, with both immediately joining her Arch-Enemy Angel's band. Zii's Heel Realization caused her sex drive to plummet after finally recognizing just how much damage her libido has done to her personal and professional relationships over the years, which frustrated DiDi. Yet another miscommunication led DiDi to believe that Zii was allowing her to pursue an open relationship, even though Zii wanted to be exclusive.^note Zii was trying to explain the importance of her and DiDi being open with communicating what's going on. But then, DiDi was never the brightest member of the Power Trio. So DiDi runs off to hook up with another woman on the side who put the idea of an open relationship in her head in the first place. Whether or not one considers this Karma finally coming around to collect for all of Zii's antics, watching her completely breaking down as her world shatters is heartbreaking.
• Gary is pretty much the catalyst for at least all the early strips' tearjerker moments; when he explains to Zii how badly his love life has gone, and she offers to help, his first reaction isn't a funny "Yahoo!" moment, just simply him asking "But, why?" He is legitimately confused as to why someone wants to help him out. Another example comes later on when he is having a conversation with Dillon and Amber about his relationship with Yuki; they break down and start hugging him when he admits that he never thought anyone would want to share their life with him. It's not really until a good while into the strips that his life actually starts turning around.
