     Round 1
  • Javert finally referring to Valjean like a person and not a number after Valjean is murdered.
  • Natalie's entire reaction to Gabe's death and the subsequent trial, wherein he's revealed to have been the culprit all along. For her part, Natalie is in complete denial about it even after it's proven what happened.
  • The reactions to the murders of Case 3, as Hook murdered Darla out of his hatred for children, Eliza for getting in the way, and both in a failed attempt to get the money needed to hire Billy Flynn as his lawyer. Seymour in particular is horrified at his petty reasons and wonders if Hook deserved his execution, while Billy Flynn feels guilty that his presence inadvertently caused the murders.
  • Just about everyone's reaction to Case 4. Having a Sympathetic Murderer who didn't even realize she did it, followed by a Motive Rant from her much less sympathetic Superpowered Evil Side, and the Balladeer pleading for some way to only execute Cain but being cowed into submission and made to kill Astarte along with him.
  • Billy Harris confessing to Anna that he was disillusioned at home, became a supervillain, and killed his friend. He gives up his Secret Identity to be with her and asks her to stop him if he ever goes down that path again.
  • D-ne's song "Donut Hole," performed when she's having a crisis over what is real in deadland.
  • Natalie is killed right after she's finally learned to open up and trust the others. Anna's and Jezebel's reactions were especially painful.
  • The revelation of what happened in the fifth case. It was all an accident due to mistaken identity, and Billy Harris blames himself for it. What hurts the most is that Hans and Anna switch expected reactions: Hans forgives the person he'd always sought to undermine, but Anna snaps at her boyfriend and wants to punch him.
  • "What, did Hans of the Southern Isles fall in love?"
  • Seymour's last memory regain and his reaction to it. He breaks down crying, leaves flowers as a memorial in the tea room, and asks everyone if they thought they'd live as long as they have.
  • Jezebel's Dark Reprise of "Time After Time." The tone of the original was happy silliness, partying, and building a relationship; the reprise is lonely mourning and guilt at not being there to save the last victim.
  • The Balladeer's final song with, and to, the Leading Player. Did you think the moderators/Were ever on your side?/Player, think about your shows...

     Round 2
  • The climax of the round has the SQUIP bringing the dead back, but with "improvements" that render them emotionless, uncaring, and completely unlike their usual selves. This hits especially hard for characters like Steven and Riley, who act too happy about events and ignore the personal problems that made them who they are.

     Round 3
  • Orpheus sees a future photo of Eurydice giving coins to Hades and is horrified about it, and they promise one another that when they make it home, they'll work to ensure that future doesn't happen. Instead, both are killed later in the game.
  • Spongebob's terrified reaction to Mumbles' death; he can't stop screaming about it and other characters try their best to calm him, with mixed results.
  • A small but heartbreaking moment occurs during the first vote, where Orpheus votes for himself rather than accuse Elisabeth of killing Mumbles.
  • After the first execution, the cast commiserates together, with Spongebob immediately pulling Orpheus into a hug and Peregrine bonding with him over the similarities in their photos. Despite their differences, a majority of the cast are horrified at what occurred and vow to get out safely—which, by nature of the death game, can't happen.
