Tear Jerker / Iron Will

• Will breaking down over his father and having to be comforted by Ned is one of his most vulnerable moments.
  • Ned grieves over the loss of Jack Stoneman himself, in private.
• Gus, Will's lead sled dog, gets hurt and is left whimpering as Will can do nothing but hope he makes it. This hits especially hard because Gus had an aversion towards Will at first, but warmed up to Will over the course of the race, only for poor Will to almost lose him.
