Tear Jerker / Helck

Go To

  • The Dark Warrior's reunion with his little sister as he finally dies.
  • Helck's life in general.
    • He grows up poor and abused, with his brother on the verge of death from illness, and begs someone to help him. He even offers the little money he has, which someone believes he stole, and it was only pure luck that they met a girl who took pity on them.
    • His brother later ends up in critical condition after defeating the Demon King and ends up being mind controlled to try and kill Helck. He ends up killing himself so that Helck wouldn't die.
    • His friends later fight so that he can escape, only to end up captured and tortured. He arrives just in time to save Alicia from being publicly executed, only for Mikaros and Rafaed to begin turning everyone including her into awakened beings. Alicia begs Helck to kill her before she can transform into a mindless monster, but he can't bring himself to do it.
    • And then he learns it was all for nothing. At best he only prolonged the inevitable since those who change cannot be changed back and are only under control by the King's power. His brother's body is still being used as a key. And he's teleported away before he can even take revenge.
  • Edil finally comes to terms with his feelings for Hyura in Chapter 64, only for Mikaros to drain him of his willpower. He only has enough left to save her a final time before he flies away, likely a monster, despite her calling for him to come back.
    • And then, while now a monster, Edil seemingly kills Blue Azudora.
  • Mikaros broke Alicia's mind in order to use her as a weapon against Helck.
  • Helck and Alicia meeting in the present, her mind has been broken so it's hard to say she even recognizes him, but when Helck removes her helmet we see her face is horribly disfigured and she has tears in her good eye. The whole time Helck is talking to her he is releasing his aura, showing that no matter how calm he looks and acts, on the inside he is filled with rage and despair.
  • Chapter 74.1 reveals the mindset of a human who has awakened under the King's Will. You can't kill yourself, you can't stop fighting even if you want to, you can't disobey, and you can't escape. Even the Ax-Crazy Haraoul just wants it to stop.
  • Chapter 99 could easily be both tear-jerking and heartwarming at the same time. This is because the situation has gotten so bad that Helck now has to use all of his fearsome power even if he becomes a monster dominated by Will of the World. So he asks Vermilio to kill him with the Hero Killer sword if he ever turns into a monster before going off to fight. As Vermilio watches Helck slowly become dominated by Will of the World during his fight, she began to cry and shout out several reasons why he deserves to be saved. The last reason she states is most emotional as she tearfully states how she doesn't want to kill him because he is her precious friend. This is heartwarming when you consider that she used to mistrust him so much that she would have willingly killed him before, but she doesn't anymore. Thankfully, it looks like she doesn't have to keep the promise of killing him as Azudora and others teleport to serve as reinforcements.
