- The Downer Ending. Dear Kami, the Downer Ending. Not only does almost everyone die in the fight, but it's then revealed that it destroyed the entirety of the world, leaving only Hidan alive—without any of the others, until he begs Jashin for death.
- It gets worse when you realize that this includes everyone, including the unborn child that Nagato and Konan had finally gotten and who Amegakure was all so happy to have exist. Yeah, Improbable Infant Survival didn't hold up long at all here.
