  • In Deathtrap Dungeon, when you are forced to kill Throm The Barbarian Warrior, whom you have befriended, in self-defense after he becomes a drugged and mind-wiped slave. Though considering there could be only ONE winner of the Dungeon challenge, it's the better of two options, the other being fighting your own ally to the death where both of you were your own selves. Plus you can seek revenge immediately thereafter, kill the dwarf who forced you into the situation, and then steal his armor on top of that.
  • In Nightofthe Necromancer, your reunion with your sister, which describes her attempting to embrace you despite the fact you are a ghost. Made even more tragic if the priest arrives and casts an exorcising spell midway through your conversation.
  • If you choose to kill the giant in Scorpion Swamp, and then return to the same area, you can see the giant's wife weeping over his body. She only looks at you sadly, and the narration says that the guilt forces you to never go back to that place if you can help it.
  • The story of Eric Rune-Axe in Phantoms of Fear. Once an ordinary treasure hunter, he was nearly killed when he explored Firetop Mountain. The experience drove him insane and he became a hermit living in the wilderness. If you help him get his head together, he'll briefly join your quest and help you fight a gang of Dark Elves. The Dark Elves kill him, but he holds some of them long enough for you to kill the Elves you're fighting and then turn on the ones who killed him. There's a brief Grave-Marking Scene where you bury him, as he's finally found the peace he never had in life.
  • In Caverns of the Snow Witch, you can survive the Witch's Death spell longer than your friends if you drank the Dark Elf's Potion of Health. As for your friends...
    • Redswift takes you to see the Healer in hopes of lifting your curse, but he soon becomes so weak that you have to carry him. His strength finally gives out and he dies, leading you to bury him in a leafy glade. Later on, you can meet Redswift's brother Ash. When you tell him about Redswift's fate, he heads off into the woods and stares into the distance, implying his grief over his brother's death.
    • Stubb heads out with his fellow dwarf Bigleg to try and find Stonebridge's magical warhammer in Darkwood Forest instead of traveling with you and Redswift. The intro to The Forest of Doom has the hero finding a dying Bigleg after he's been attacked by Wild Hill Men, implying that Stubb suffered a similar fate. Unfortunately, Even if Stubb wasn't killed by the hazards of Darkwood, he would've almost certainly been killed by the curse.
