Tear Jerker / Escape from L.A.

• It's hard not to feel bad when Talisma dies, if only because she's pretty much the only geuninely good person in the film.
  • Worse yet, throughout the whole "dark Paradise" conversation between her and Snake, they are very close to a bunch of newcomers to the island who huddled together around a campfire and are praying in thanks for surviving one more day and for help in general, with Taslima saying that she was just like them before and that this is a normal thing. Some random bunch of teenage gangbangers open fire on them just because they are there, hitting Taslima and forcing them to run away. If that doesn't tells you everything that is screwed up with this world, nothing will.
• The crushed look on Utopia's face when she deduces that Snake is there to kill her on her father's orders. It's enough to make him opt out of that part of his mission on the spot and let her go.
• The whole damn global situation: America is a fascist dictatorship run by a fundamentalist maniac, and his opponents are an equally reprehensible group of communists. No wonder Snake decides to shut down the world.
