  • Druss participated in the quest in order to gain an artifact to save a friend's life. When he returns with the artifact, he learns that the man has already passed away.
  • The whole story was narrated by Druss to a young soldier during the siege of Dros Delnoch. At the end, we learn that he was telling his story to the young man while he was wounded and the soldier died in the middle of it. When the surgeon points it to Druss, he replies that he noticed, commenting that they are all dying in his hands.
• In the Where Are They Now epilogue of Legend we find out that after the siege of Dros Delnoch Bowman rode out with the Drenai to take revenge against the Nadir. The very last words of the book? He did not return.
