• The climax of the Prologue: Tenton gets torched by monsters, and your sibling's nearly killed before your eyes — but a mysterious barrier surroundings them at the last moment. Time Stands Still long enough for them to realize you're not protected, and they can't escape the barrier or do anything more than scream before it whisks them away. Then you die.
• Miko Himea's death in the first half of 5.5 is this for anyone who played the game for 9 years. After keeping the Yggdrasil Flowers growing, she passes on to rejoin Amber in the afterlife, allowing the Hero to take one to revive Luciana and hopefully defeat Jagnouba.
  • It gets even sadder when the Offline version of the game reveals she fought alongside the Hero 500 years ago and she doesn't remember the adventures she shared with them, due to her age.
