Democracy isn't just a Comic Book. It's a story of people. Of people like us! So, of course, there will be moments where they'll move us and make us cry.

Spoilers Off applies to all "Moments" pages, so all spoilers are unmarked.

  • Promachus' death. Leander is about to reach him with a hopeful smile on his face, only for Promachus to be murdered right in front of his son's eyes!
    • And later, when Leander leaves Athens, he comes across the statue of Goddess Athena, a place where him and his father had once stopped to admire. He recalls Nefert's words and bursts into tears, hugging the momentary and wishing for his father to be with him.
  • The sight of the burned house, as well as the walls that Leander painted The Oresteia, where he put so much effort into creating that. Apart from Gavrion and Nefert, he lost everything!
  • Leander learning that the Oracle's prophecies are, in reality, malleable. He hoped that he would find a way to take revenge for his father's death and he was wrong. Not to mention that Hero (the person who explained him that) was also scared and was looking for something to grab on. That fear is what made them bond.
  • Again, learning that Harmodios and Aristogeiton killed the tyrant Hipparchus not as an act of rebellion, but because they were lovers and Hipparchus tried to separate them. Up until that moment, he imagined them as two heroes who said "no" to tyranny and that image was completely ruined. He realized that his father was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
  • The night before his departure, Leander invites Hero to come with him in Athens. Hero, however, refuses to leave Delphi for she is a priestess. Leander reminds her the myth with "Hero and Leander", but she says that the myth is fake and somebody imagined that to explain why the boy was found dead in the coast. He tries again by reminding her that the Oracle is actually fake, but Hero takes his urges as a way to rape her and accuses him for that. Upon leaving, Leander realizes that Hero, unlike him, believes in something.
  • After his masterpiece is destroyed, Leander gives up on everything! Gavrion tries to urge him to do something, but Leander refuses to listen to him, for he is a slave, ruining their long-lasting friendship. Athena tries to talk to him, but Leander yells at her to leave him alone.
  • The last panel, where the Athenian army is depicted rushing towards the Persians, while Athena is standing above them, holding a spear and clearly supporting the formers. The audience knows that the Greeks won the battle that day, but the soldiers are incredibly anxious, since their enemy is vast and it has never been beaten before. Still, they chose to fight and defend their country!
  • The last lines:
Leander: We run and the day dawns over the plain of Marathon. We run for that light, and it's so close, so far away. And whatever idea we're on our way to… I have no word to describe it.
