Series

  • Seeing Sabrina being harrowed. It really strikes a chord with anyone who's been bullied or hazed.
  • The fact that Quentin, the young boy that helped Sabrina during her first days at the school was harrowed to death along with many other young children. Let's remember, he was tortured to death at the age of 12 by other warlock boys. It's heartbreaking when you rewatch the episode and see that he was the nicest person to Sabrina in the Academy and even welcomed her at the gate with a little sign with her name. He even gives her clues on how to survive her own harrowing despite the fact that as a ghost he's under no obligation to help her; he only wishes to help out of the goodness of his own heart so no one dies again like he did.
  • Zelda breaking down when Hilda dies for good in the nightmare Batibat traps her in. She's also the only one who doesn't come to her senses when Sabrina explains what's happening.
  • Zelda's reaction to Sabrina, in anger, saying that Zelda isn't her mother is heartbreaking. Made all the more heartbreaking when, after Sabrina is left heartbroken when Harvey is forced to kill Tommy and breaks up with her, Zelda is the one who comforts her.
  • Harvey having to kill Tommy.
  • Prudence's main consolation about being sacrificed as the Queen of the Feast was that she believed it was truly the will of the Dark Lord. Although she's very restrained, it's clear that learning Lady Blackwood tampered with the selection of the Queen, and therefore the Dark Lord did not choose her, along with the revelation that Father Blackwood has secretly been her father this whole time and never told her hurts a lot.
  • Young Sabrina only wanting her mom as Santa asks her what she what for Christmas. Hilda was there and overhearing Sabrina's request only brought a sorrowful look to her face knowing that's one thing she cannot give her beloved niece.
  • Harvey rejecting Sabrina's gift for him clarifying her choice to respect his wishes about staying from witchcraft.
  • Despite developing a bond with Leticia in a span of a month Zelda has to send her away after realizing The Spellmans aren't enough to keep her safe.
  • Susie is cleaning a face... when she sees a tear fall from the eye of the boy. While it's mostly a Nightmare Fuel it's also pretty jolting seeing there are children's souls trapped in the 'statues', meaning it's And I Must Scream while they're forced to watch their killer collect more unsuspecting victims.
  • Gryla's backstory: during a famine, she and another witch from her coven made a pact to eat their own children to survive. They cooked and devoured Gryla's son first, her only child, and then the other witch broke their pact. Devastated, Gryla spent the last thousand years trying to replace her lost child. At some point, she was abandoned by her husband. She's looking for children, particularly orphans, to add to her "family".
  • Sabrina's explanation to Hilda about why she's staying away from Harvey, Roz and Theo: She saw the Dark Lord when she signed her name in the Book of the Beast at the end of Season 1, and he told her that she would be forced to do his dark bidding without the ability to refuse him. She has no idea when he might send his orders to her, but she can't take the chance that it won't be soon. She wants her friends safe and happy away from all that, but more importantly, she doesn't want her friends to see her as evil. The look of resigned heartbreak on Sabrina's face is only topped by the devastated look on Hilda's. On top of this, Sabrina has already been through the rejection once before: Harvey broke up with her and kept his distance from her when he found out about Tommy and had to kill him. Not to mention, even though Sabrina cured his father of his alcoholism and gave him a harmless magical Christmas present, Harvey still rejected her and her magic. She doesn't trust that her friends will accept her being a proper Church of Night member. Even sadder? She's proven right when Roz goes blind and she and Harvey think that Sabrina caused it because she's a witch. Theo is the only one of Sabrina's mortal friends who consistently has faith in Sabrina's goodness.
  • Madam Satan's despair after the Dark Lord murders Mary Wardwell's fiancé and forces her to eat him. She's devastated because she fell in love with him.
  • Mandrake!Sabrina's death. An entity explicitly said to have the innocence of a newborn, cruel as it may be, is tricked into having a duel of "honor" only to be murdered by her opponent in a thoroughly dishonorable way. And she feels completely betrayed and confused, being unable to understand why someone would be so unfair to her. Even her killer feels pity for her and tries to comfort her in her final moments.
  • Sabrina's clear heartbreak when Nick sacrifices himself to become a container for Satan in order to save Sabrina and the world.
  • In the last episode of season 2, Prudence realizes that Blackwood not only poisoned the coven, but tricked her into helping. She's immediately horrified and runs from the room, promising to kill him, and breaks down sobbing when she discovers her sisters slowly dying. By the time she gets to the Spellmans' she's crying so hard she's having trouble talking. And this is Prudence, whose composure is usually absolute—she didn't even cry when she found out she was the victim of an assassination attempt, for hell's sake.
  • Theo seeing his uncle Jesse being tortured in Hell.
  • The Bad Future where Sabrina's friends and aunts are dead, Salem died waiting for Hilda's resurrection only Ambrose was alive. But The Pagans ruled the earth and Greendale was overrun with plant zombies, and a bunch of mortals has been turned into stone.
  • Nick's description of what being in Hell was like for him.
  • The fact that, by the end of the season, Prudence has lost both of her sisters through various means, and has also pushed away Ambrose due to blaming him for Dorcas's death, leaving her almost completely alone in the world.
  • Episode 6 Of Part 4 has quite a few.
    • Dorcas came back from the dead and forgave Agatha for killing her and restored her sanity with a kiss on the lips. After Agatha is sane again she is devastated and confused because she doesn't know what Dorcas forgave her for. Prudence also breaks down crying after Dorcas left.
    • Sabrina meets her father Edward who tells her that she isn't his daughter and that her mother was a whore.
    • Mambo Marie has to go to the Underworld because she's actually Baron Samdi the spirit of death and rebirth but before she leaves she resurrects Zelda's dog as a parting gift.
  • In the Series Final Sabrina dies in other to defeat the void and save everyone. Her funeral is attended by Lilith who is clearly affected by Sabrina's death. Prudence is also grieving Sabrina and shows it as she she saws Blackwood into pieces. Later at the Academy they displayed a Statue in honor of Sabrina's memory and Zelda cries at Hecate wondering why she couldn't keep Sabrina alive; at the funeral itself, Zelda calls both Sabrinas "our daughters".
  • Lilith killing her baby to stop Lucifer from taking him, and the resulting Villainous B So D she goes through.
  • When Zelda encounters the Darkness, one of the fears it reveals is that Sabrina hates her and doesn't think of her as a mother.
