Tear Jerker / Action Taimanin

Moments subpages are Spoilers Off. You Have Been Warned!

Action Taimanin may be a departure from the explicit mature content of the franchise is infamously known for, except for a number of heartbreaking and somber moments.

Main Quest

  • When the team confronts Momochi in Chapters 15 and 16, the simple fact that the former Taimanin-turned terrorist plans to plunge mankind into a Guilt-Free Extermination War against every single demonic being is disheartening. Asagi refutes that nobody wished for that kind of world, even if Momochi leaks the information about the Nomad and its influence on world governments, more and more people, human or demon alike, will die. Then again, the Taimanin series is already a Crapsack World in and of itself. There are good reasons why Taimanins exist — they fight evil to maintain peace in the human world even in the face of hardships. People like Asagi and Fuuma would never stoop to Momochi's level, who epitomizes anti-demon extremism in its worst qualities.
  • Momochi's daughter Nagi defecting to the task force after his defeat. However, she has to deal with the harsh reality of being a Taimanin — given that she herself is a rogue Taimanin like her father, that defecting from her father's inner circle and heading back to Gosha is asking for an immediate death sentence.note  Nagi will not only have to go on a low profile without being under threat by her own father's men, but she might be more or less likely unable to see her father again.
  • After the events of Chapter 21, the Yukikaze and Murasaki the player fights would turn out to be clones. Even worse, the real ones disappeared when this chapter and the one preceding it are taking place. But, the real gut punch for players is playing as Shiranui in this chapter. Imagine yourself in her shoes, learning your daughter is missing and that the one attacking the UFS base is actually a cyborg doppelganger. Now Shiranui needs to go on a mission to find Yukikaze, and it's basically the Taimanin Yukikaze duology in reverse.

Intimacy Events

Playable Characters

  • Asuka's playable Intimacy Event, assuming this takes place during the Final Battle against Edwin Black. She looks completely exhausted and alone while trying to buy the task force time to escape while trapped inside in a building on the verge of collapse, her thoughts were on Fuuma and Kurenai, whom she had form a comradery with as she is about to Face Death with Dignity. However, Fuuma decides to rescue Asuka, and the scene ends with her about to cry Tears of Joy.

Supporters

  • Sakuya Igawa's own episode is not for the faint of heart, especially for those who have seen her vitriolic relationship with Sora; as well as her growing resentment towards the latter. But, when Fuuma catches her attempting to dope herself with demonic blood, if anything, the same kind of demonic blood used by Momochi and his inner circle, he also learns that she is unable to awaken her Ninja Art, along with her tumultuous upbringing, being forced to live up to her relative Asagi's legacy. Had Fuuma not intervened, Sakuya could have ended up like Momochi. It only took a heart-to-heart conversation to bring Sakuya back to high spirits, reminding her that much like his own experience, you don't even need a Ninja Art to be a Taimanin, or having your family acknowledge you.
