Game Over is a DVV Spin Off, and is a Nintendo themed expansion featuring 64 different factions from Nintendo games new and old. It can be found here.
Game Over includes examples of:
- Affably Evil: King Dedede, who can be considered this setting's equivalent to Bagheera from DVV Classic
- Anachronism Stew: This setting is filled to the brim with it, as one can go from the medieval lands of Fire Emblem to the futuristic cities of Star Fox fairly quickly. Justified in-universe because Game Over's world is the result of some extra dimensional entity stitching together universes where the villains won.
- Ancient Grome: Both of the Kid Icarus factions, being Hades's Underworld Army and Viridi's Forces of Nature, although most of the human inhabitants of the lands are gone
- Corrupt Corporate Executive: President Haltmann stands out as the shining example of this trope, but it also applies to Nightmare, another Kirby antagonist on the South American Continent
- Death World:
- The Sinnoh region, while still a part of Giovanni's United Regions, is almost completely uninhabited due to the fact that it has become a dumping ground for time space anomalies and other quantum mayhem
- Termina, being stuck in an endless three day cycle in which the moon crashes into the land at the end of the final day, killing everyone inside. Then Majora rewinds time to watch it happen all over again. The really bad part is that if anyone from outside the land goes in and dies when the moon falls, they are permanently stuck in the loop until someone breaks the curse by disposing of Majora.
- The Underworld Army, quite a literal example considering that it's being run by the god of death himself
- Endless Winter: The areas controlled by the Snowmad Clans are an example of this
- Elemental Embodiment:
- Viridi, being the goddess of nature, basically embodies the untapped natural world
- Groudon and Kyogre, which embody the land and the sea respectively
- God Save Us from the Queen!: Viridi, once again, along with all of the other female faction-leaders (of which there are surprisingly few), but special notice goes to Lusamine for being by far the most sadistic of them all
- La Résistance: The Dreamland Remnants can somewhat qualify for this, but other examples include N in Ghetsis's domain, and Sheldon in DJ Octavio's realm
- Lotus-Eater Machine: You could technically apply this to Termina, which traps any who enter the realm and fail to escape before the moon falls at the end of the third day within the land until someone breaks Majora's curse, but it's not too enticing to enter because of its well-earned reputation in the outside world of people entering and never coming back out.
- Mind Control: The Tiki Tak Tribe control all of the animals of Madagascar with this method
- DJ Octavio's Octaronica Music, which he blasts nonstop throughout the Octo Isles, hypnotizes the inhabitants of his land and makes them follow his orders.
- Mordor: Hoenn is split between 2 different Mordors, Magma Hoenn, which is a desolate desert being roasted in the blazing sun, and Aqua Hoenn, which is trapped in a constant torrential deluge
- Police State: There are two major examples of this trope, both of which are from Pokemon
- Unova, which under Ghetsis's totalitarian regime has turned into a dystopian land where Team Plasma grunts break into people's houses at random to check for any illegally owned Pokemon
- Kalos, where Lysandre has outlawed the owning of Pokemon for anyone other than a Team Flare member or someone who needs a Pokemon for their job, at which point said person is only allowed to own a Pokemon from a small list and even then it is illegal to evolve, let alone level up your Pokemon for fear of it being used against Team Flare
- Talking Animal: Kremling Kountry, Ghastly Kingdoms, and the Snowmad clans are the biggest examples in terms of recognition, though it can be argued that not all of the animals there actually talk, Grok County is a bit more stable, albeit less recognizable, as an example of this trope as its entire population are made up of talking animals, however, there are a few more questionably fitting examples of this trope as listed below
- New Venom, since it's the Star Fox faction, however it could be argued that the Lylatians are aliens that happen to look like anthropomorphized Earth animals
- The Octo Isle, as its residents resemble all manner of marine life, though once again we don't actually know whether or not they're actually the animals they look like
- Koopa Kingdoms, since some of the residents of the land are close enough to real life animals and are sentient enough that they can qualify for this trope, but also there are other residents that can't be argued to be real-world animals
- Dreamland Remnants, again its like the situation above but its a bit more solid since their king is a talking blue penguin and enemies like Bonkers, Mr. Frosty, Birdon, and Bugsy exist, all of which are based on real world animals.
- Urban Fantasy: Since this setting features both Magic and Technology there are a few of these that exist
- All of the Pokemon realms except for Kalos, which has been reverted to something resembling Medieval France
- Eagle Land, if you consider ESP and PK powers magic
- Diamond City, as magic is a part of the Mario universe
- Villain with Good Publicity: Giovanni has this, as he's ascended to become the Champion of the United Regions, which is more of an honorific with no major political power, but since he's still in charge of Team Rocket and owns the legendary birds and Mewtwo, he has the respect that comes from being the strongest trainer in the United Regions and the control of the whole country
- Well-Intentioned Extremist:
- Lysandre can be considered this since his motivation is to make the world a better place by getting rid of greedy people who create conflict and suffering, the problem is that he believes that everyone except for Team Flare is part of the problem and wipes out pretty much the entire population of Kalos to achieve his goal, he then takes over the place and turns it into something resembling Medieval France
- Maxie and Archie's motivations were also to make the world a better place and their plans led them to awaken legendary Pokemon and turn their part of Hoenn into either a scorching desert or a perpetually tempestuous ocean, but now they're more concerned with fighting each other than following their ideological goals as the conflict between Maxie and Archie and their respective legendary Pokemon has spiraled out of control.
