Although it tributes to the four anime it crossovers, this series has a lot of references to other sources.

Marvel Comics

Many Marvel Comics aspects and nods are use since the author envisions it as his own Marvel anime universe, here are the list:
  • When the Tamers become their Beast Tamer forms, Suzakato's fire powers are like the Human Torch while Himmako sheathing his claws are similar to Wolverine. Somehow, the Beast Tamers are like the Fantastic Four.
  • In the climax of Invasion of the Rajita, Sailor Mars becoming the Yami Houou pays tribute to The Dark Phoenix Saga.
  • The Houou is obviously base on the Phoenix Force.
  • The Imperium Empire are expies of the Imperial Guard.
  • Takato's character development and his insecurities have some readers relate to Spider-Man.
  • Zagato is an expy of Kang the Conqueror.
  • The Ora Guardians are somewhat expies of the Cosmic Compasses (Death, Eternity, Oblivion and Infinity).
  • Likewise, Sailor Cosmos' role of watching the multiverse is like the Living Tribunal.
  • In Chapter 57 of Dawn of Chaos, the theme song of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes is used.
  • Chapter 60's title of the earth's heroes facing Valmarmon feels similar to the Marvel heroes facing Galactus.
  • In Neos United, the jewels play the role of the Infinity Stones/Gems.
  • The West Coasters are similar to Big Hero 6 and The Inhumans.
  • Cain's hatred of superheroes, alongside rallying humans that share the same viewpoint as him pays tribute to the public showing prejudice to mutants.
  • The Soujas are going to be base on The Sentinels with some elements of Brainiac (DC Comics) and Ultron. Viktor Trask is an expy of Bolivar Trask.
  • Even though they are base on Norse Mythology, Loki and the Asgardians have some elements of The Mighty Thor, such as Sif is base on her Marvel self rather than her original source material.
    • Valkyrie Brunhilde being leader of the Valkyries shares the same role as Valkyrie.
    • Mist is an expy of Amora the Enchantress.

DC Comics

It is not just Marvel, but DC Comics shares the concept.
  • The main characters' (Sailor Moon, Yusuke, Takato & Guilmon, Yugi Muto, Takuya, Sailor Sedna, and Valkyrie Brunhilde) later roles are similar to the founding members of the Justice League. Sailor Moon is Superman, Yusuke is Batman, Takato & Guilmon are Green Lantern, Yugi is the Martian Manhunter, Takuya is the Flash, Sedna is Wonder Woman, and Brunhilde is Hawkgirl.
  • Kaiser Ghidorah's mannerism and cruelty is similar to Darkseid. In Chapter 18 of Invasion of the Rajita, he even quotes one of the dialogue from Superman: The Animated Series.
    • Ghidorah killing Sailor Moon feels similar to Doomsday.
  • The Amazon Duel Monsters and Digimon's background are similar to the Amazons from Wonder Woman.
  • Omegamon, Imperialdramon, and Athenamon have roles similar to DC's Trinity (Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman).
  • Cain Bearer is base on Lex Luthor.
  • The Souja Core will be base on Brainiac.
  • The Neo Heroes being the young generation are reminders of Teen Titans and Young Justice.
  • The Legend HQ is similar to the Hall of Justice.

Anime

  • Pharaohmon's Shadow Tournament pays tribute to the Dark Tournament and the Cell Games.
  • The Sailor Senshi's normal, Super, and Eternal forms curb-stomping BelialMyotismon pays tribute to Digimon doing the same thing in Digimon Adventure 02.
  • Pharaohmon's full power is similar to Younger Toguro's.
  • Upon a close reference, the Tamers becoming Beast Tamers shows that their retelling Digimon Frontier, to which the author (and Ninetalesuk) can understand why it's influential to his stories.
    • Their base forms are the Human Hybrids, beast forms are Beast Hybrids, their Beast Biomergers are their Advance Hybrids, and their Advance Biomergers are their Zeta Hybrids. Their Golden Kirin form is an expy of Susanoomon.
    • Valmarmon plays somewhat the role of Lucemon. Madoudramon is his Cherubimon. The Demon Beast Generals are like the corrupt Legendary Warriors. ChaosGallantmon and Demon play the roles of the two Royal Knights.
  • In Invasion of the Rajita, Kaiser Ghidorah's role is like Queen Beryl. His four generals: Kuiiza, Nagah, Morpheous, and Kujiko have roles similar to Jadeite, Nephrite, Zoisite, and Kunzite.
  • Arago's appearance looks like Talpa from Ronin Warriors.
  • The whole 63 chapters of Dawn of Chaos are akin to 64 episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist.
  • The heroes regrouping together from various dimensions in Chapter 62 of Dawn of Chaos is similar to Team Dai-Gurren escaping the Extradimensional Labyrinth.
  • The final battle of Dawn of Chaos have some aspects of all the Gundam Fighters facing the Colony Devil Gundam.

Other Shout Outs

  • Chapter 27 of Wrath of Pharaohmon Redux shows Yami Bakura wearing a glove similar to Freddy Krueger.
    • Likewise in Summer Diaries and Gaiden, the Sandman is base on Freddy Krueger.
  • Chapter 27 of Wrath of Pharaohmon Redux shows another dream sequence where characters from Sonic the Hedgehog appear and dress up as Star Wars.
  • Kaisers Ghidorah and Gamera's armor, helmet, metal claws, and their god complexes pay tribute to the Shredder and Shao Khan.
  • The Rajita mothership and their invasions are like the movie Independence Day.
  • Some of the Rajita army have traits of the Covenant and other alien species from Halo.
  • The Valkyries appearances' are a nod to Valkyrie Profile.
  • The names of Granasmon and Valmarmon came from Lord Granas and Valmar from Grandia II.
  • In The Taiyoukai's Awakening, the Taiyoukai demons are similar to the Demon Sorcerers from Jackie Chan Adventures.
  • The names of Rio and Long come from Juken Sentai Gekiranger.
  • Zimmy is base on the title character from Invader Zim.
  • The concept of order vs chaos in Dawn of Chaos is a tribute to Dissidia Final Fantasy.
  • The story aspects of Dawn of Chaos, including the heroes splitting to groups only that they unite for the final battle reminds some people of The Subspace Emissary.
    • Let's face it the three Big Bads play the role of the Nintendo villains: Valmarmon is Bowser, Gamera is Ganondorf, and Arago is Wario. The Paradais duo have roles similar to the Master Hand and Tabuu.
    • The Paradais duo banishing the heroes to many dimensions and plans to expand their network is similar to Tabuu creating the Great Maze and expand the subspace.
  • There are a bunch of Kaiju references.
    • Kaiser Ghidorah's name is taken from the infamous three-headed dragon and Godzilla: Final Wars. His kaiju form looks like Godzilla.
    • Gamera's name is base on the same name. His kaiju form is quite obvious.
    • The Taiyoukai Eight fuse to OmegaKiryu looks like a chimeric kaiju.
    • Valmarmon's evolved form looks a lot like Destoroyah.
    • ChaosMillenniummon is base on SpaceGodzilla.
    • The Chiimons play the role of the Shobijin.
    • Yes, this makes Japan's heroes play the role of Earth's good monsters such as Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, and Anguirus.
