Wonder Woman (Vol. 1)

  • Sensation Comics: Features a shoutout to Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (the book, given the 1942 publishing date of the comic) with the writing "Blondes Prefer Gentlemen" on one of the Holliday Girls' cars. This same car with the same phrase on it ends up being reused in The Legend of Wonder Woman (2016) as Holliday Girl Glamora Treat's vehicle.
  • Wonder Woman (1942):
    • The graduated Holliday Girl chemist Lana Kurree's last name is a shout out to real life Nobel Prize winner Marie Curie.
    • Diana gives a little nod to the song "Oh! That Moonlight Glide" as she glides home at night by moonlight after a long day.
    • One of the impossible tasks Thomas Tighe sets for the Holliday Girls is that one of them helps Captain Rab, a clear pastiche of Captain Ahab from Moby-Dick, hunt down his whale nemesis.
    • When Keith Griggs is attacked by one of Circe's beast men who has been transformed into a bear-like monster he responds Oh no you don't, Yogi! This is one camper who's not becoming part of your picnic basket!
    • The Huntress backup feature references "The System of Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether," though it does not become evident until issue 305 when it is revealed Dr. Amos Tarr has taken over Arkham and put some of the less violent inmates in charge of the front desk and in different positions posing as staff.

Wonder Woman (Vol. 2)

  • Cassie is shown to have a Pantera poster above her bed in issue 178.
  • During "The Witch and the Warrior" Wonder Woman's fight with a brainwashed Superman takes them past a billboard advertising the Broadway musical The Phantom of Gotham, complete with a white mask and red rose on a black background. There's also advertisements for RENT and Cinnamon Get Your Gun (replacing Annie Oakley with the DC Western character Kate "Cinnamon" Manser).
  • Cassie and Georgia talk about talent agents in relation to Cassie's position as Wonder Girl and mention Julia Roberts as someone who has an agent.

Wonder Woman (Vol. 3)

  • The woman's shelter interveiwee Darla was named after the Little Rascal character.
  • Tom is reading Through the Looking Glass when Diana comes to visit him in the hospital.
