Shout-outs found in The Second Try:
- In chapter 3, Toji dismisses his suspicions over Shinji and Asuka's odd behavior with the claim that "they would have to be totally drunk before they would start to like each other", most likely a nod from Jimmy Wolk to his other fic, The Ikaris.
- In chapter 5, Hikari asks Kensuke to find some information from NERV due to his reputation for "hacking and spying stuff" (a common Flanderization in other fanfics). Kensuke protests that his interest is military stuff (as seen in the actual seriesnote ).Kensuke: Who started this "Kensuke is a geek, so he's good with computers"-rumor anyway...?
