• A very obscure one to Star Trek. The Sweetwater Colony's name is English for "Agua Dulce", the place in California where Kirk's Rock is located.
• The title could also be translated as "Char Strikes Back".
• The scenes where Amuro and Char face off in their mobile suits via fists is a shout out to Tōru Furuya voicing the titular character of Saint Seiya.
