  • The series' most prominent Soap Within a Show, Ada Azab Dalam Cerita or AADC, is a reference to 2018 Indonesian soap opera Azab in terms of concept and its title is a reference to Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? (look at the abbreviation). The latter reference is sometimes emphasized even more.
    • In episode 4, the name on the clapper board for the soap is Rangga AADC, as in Rangga the main character of AADC film.
    • In episode 29, Mami Bibir name drops the film actors when talking about the soap.
  • The Indonesian film Dilan 1990 was hot back when the series was airing, so unsurprisingly the series likes to reference it, particularly the iconic "rindu itu berat" ("longing is hard").
    • In episode 8, Bambang (who is wearing fake tattoo sleeves) jokingly asks Melani's friends why did they mistake him for a criminal instead of for Dilan.
    • Juna's goodbye to Melani and Pipin in episode 30 is clearly based on Dilan's line to Milea.
    • Wawan's letter in episode 41 references the "longing is hard" line and jokes about carrying "longing" on his cart.
    • In episode 44, Juna tells Pipin to not miss him using Dilan's line. Pipin gets the reference and replies by (for once, jokingly) taking the original line literally ("berat" literally means heavy).
    • In episode 60, Dian references the "rindu itu berat" line and subtitutes "rindu" with "barbell".
  • In episode 5, the soap opera whose scene are filmed in the graveyard is titled Jodoh Keramat Bapak, a clear riff on Indonesian soap Jodoh Wasiat Bapak.

  • In episode 23, Alexi helps a kid cross the street while wearing a helmet, referencing 2018 Asian Games opening ceremony.
  • When Melani assures Bambang that Alan and Prima will change (berubah) and forgive him, Bambang comments that berubah (transform) is what Ksatria Baja Hitam (localization of Kamen Rider BLACK) do.
  • In episode 28, when one-off characters Nadin and Rizki break up, Rizki asks Nadin to "don't look back in anger!" in English.
  • When Mami Bibir talks about how Juna has "berubah" ("changed" in context, but also Indonesian catchphrase of Henshin Heroes) after he joined her agency, Akbar compares Mami Bibir's word with Action Kamen's while Mami Bibir herself compares it to "Ksatria Baja Ringan".
  • In episode 31, Alan jokes that unintelligible Prima sounds like a Namekian.
  • In episode 32, Alan calls the couple who can't actually afford to buy his food "Crazy Poor Asians".
  • Alan quotes "Mangosteen now have an extract" from the memetic Mastin commercial in episode 33.
  • In episode 35, upon seeing how uncandid Romi is in front of a TV crew, Bambang compares it to Rhoma Irama's "Tabir Kepalsuan" (lit. veil of falsehood) while Alan compares it to Peterpan's "Diatas Normal".
  • The ending quote for episode 37 and 59 (the latter is a clear nod to the former) is based off "Ada Apa Dengan Cerita?" poem from the movie of the same name.
  • Near the beginning of episode 40, Alan wields his flashlight as if it is a lightsaber, complete with the visual effect.
  • In episode 44, Bambang's preparation for apologizing to Melani includes warming up like a ring fighter, leading to Alan calls him a UFC fighter. Bambang replies by calling himself Bambang Soedarmo Nurmagomedov.
  • In episode 46, jealous that Juna gets to hug Agatha Chelsea while he doesn't, Alexi hugs them both while saying Teletubbies catchphrase.
Akbar: Alexi! Do you think this is Teletubbies?!
  • Later in episode 46, Mami Bibir compares Alexi and Juna's arguing on set to Tom and Jerry's fights.
  • In episode 47 and 48, Alexi wants to wear a black koko shirt so he can replicate the "Wakanda Forever" salute.
  • In episode 48, Pipin asks Bambang whether a flashdisk has something to do with The Flash. When Bambang cartoonishly runs, leaving Pipin behind, Pipin comments that Bambang must be related with The Flash.
  • In episode 52, when Melani closes the door on him, Alexi promises to wait until Rangga grows old with Cinta.
  • Near the end of episode 55, Bambang tells Melani it's okay to feel touched "before feeling touched is forbidden", referencing Warkop DKI's recurring line "laugh before laughter is forbidden".
  • In episode 57, Alexi thinks Sundanese martial arts debus is related to The Beast from Beauty and the Beast.
  • When Mami Bibir tells Alexi to starts using people's name instead of descriptors, he says "What's in a name, if Melani's is the only one who is sweet?"
  • Later in episode 57, Juna compares his luck prior to befriending Prima and co. to that of Gladstone Gander from Donald Duck.
  • In his last meeting with Mami Bibir in episode 59, Trisno tells her (in Gratuitous English), "I'll be back".

  • Episode 64 has Bambang rhetorically asking a congee seller how will he perform the Hajj if he (as Bambang assumed) is a liar, referencing Indonesian soap opera Tukang Bubur Naik Haji (Congee Seller Performs the Hajj).
  • In the last episode, when Alan and Pipin happily dance around Bollywood-style, accidentally throwing Pipin's wiper to a customer's face in process, the customer sarcastically calls them Sarung Khan and Ojol in Kucek Kucek Cucian Lulit. .
