Mondstadt

With the Traveler

• Kaeya is incredibly flirty with the Traveler, going so far as to ask them out on dates.
  • His Hangout Event is also full of this, as it begins with him offering to take the Traveler on a trip to various nations with him using his leftover travel expenses because going alone would be boring. The Traveler can also flirt with him, which he entertains and flirts with in return, and there's a Hangout Memory of the Traveler holding his hand. Another Hangout Memory has both of them holding one of Klee's hands, making them seem almost like her parents.
• Noelle is very fond of the Traveler in her Hangout Event trees, especially in the two routes where the Traveler convinces her to take a break.
  • The "Whisper of the Paper Rose" route from the first tree has multiple instances where other characters tease the two as if they are on a date, and the ending for this route treats you to an image of Noelle presenting a rose to the Traveler in a scene that is dripping with romantic subtext.
  • The "A Conundrum Called Love" route, also from the first tree, ends with Noelle researching love in the library and finishes off with a scene of the Traveler gently smiling as they watch her study. Furthermore, the notes she takes in the library on how to attract someone changes to match the Traveler's gender, and describes the one writing as suddenly overcome with emotion near the end.
  • In her second Hangout Event tree, Noelle is more comfortable around the Traveler overall and quite happy to spend time with them. The opening itself has her very pleased if the Traveler says they came by to greet her and later hoping they'll be free to see her take the selection exam.
  • In Noelle's third Serenitea Pot chat, she asks for your measurements so she can sew clothes for you. This isn't necessarily suggestive in and of itself, as it's difficult to sew clothing that fits well without some idea of what the recipient's measurements are, but she's so excited to hear you say yes that she begins ventilating, at least in the English dub.
• Fischl has plenty of moments that imply she has a crush on the Traveler.
  • Her voice lines at Friendship Levels 5 and 6 take on a shippy edge, as the Traveler's ability to accept her for who she is without question (a fantastically rare thing in her life) begins to sweep her off her feet a bit. In "About Fischl - V" she struggles, for the first time, to remain in character (since the "Fischl" character would remain distant and haughty no matter what, but Amy just wants to say what the Traveler means to her). In her birthday voice line, she makes a proposition to the Traveler to grant their wish and is about to suggest something before Oz cuts her off. He killed the mood?
  • Fischl's third Serenitea Pot chat has her ask if you will accompany her "to witness this world's end and greet the descension of eternal night." In the story of the character that Amy based her persona on, this is the ending, which makes this sound like she's asking to spend the rest of her life with you. If this isn't just her being overdramatic, it would make them life partners even if their relationship is not romantic. Notably, Fischl gets mad at Oz for interrupting her by trying to explain things like how he does when she offers to do something for him on your birthday, and when the Traveler reciprocates both Fischl and Oz are shocked to hear them say yes.
  • Fischl was very excited about getting to see the Traveler again during Weinlesefest. Not noteworthy in and of itself, but Oz's choice of translation for Fischl's greeting suggests that there's more going on.
    Oz: Mein Fräulein is battling hard to suppress the euphoria in her voice. Seeing you here has put her in the most wonderful mood...
• Mona's 2022 birthday letter raised some eyebrows, as she invited the Traveler to her room without specifying why. Her 2023 birthday mail was a definite example, as she attached some Rainbow Roses to the letter.
• During the final part of the "Invitation of Windblume" event, Venti reveals that all flowers are Windblumes, each with a different meaning. He says that some are flowers of blessing, respect, or love. When he refers to the third meaning, the camera cuts to the Traveler.
• Albedo's rank 4 and 7 conversations in the Serenitea Pot have flirtatious vibes to them. In rank 4, when asked if there's anything else he's interested in, he admits that it's probably the Traveler. He says that "at first" it was because they carry the aura of the stars, but now feels that there's more to it. In rank 7, he says that he'd rather spend more time on them than other matters before asking them to accompany him on either both his experiments or when he draws. He then asks them to accompany him for dessert afterwards.

Between Characters

• Jean and Diluc have some interactions that make them look like either exes or that they had a fling while Diluc was in the Knights of Favonius.
  • Despite his current low opinion of the Knights, Diluc only has good words about Jean and is the only person there he can trust.
  • During the Dvalin situation, Diluc calls a few people for help, and Jean happens to be the only person who shows up.
  • During Jean's Story Quest, all the characters organize a surprise party for Jean. Despite his deadpan demeanor, Diluc offered the Angel's Share and an open tab as his contribution to her.
  • Kaeya is an active shipper of both. He often comments on how curious it is to see both of them in the same place. In Diluc's Special Event, one of Kaeya's letters to Diluc reveals that Jean tried to dissuade Diluc from leaving the Knights, but Kaeya stopped her from writing that letter.
• Bennett is one of Barbara's biggest fans, going to all of her concerts.
• Bennett is the only person to wholeheartedly believe Fischl's stories, wanting to adventure with Fischl to the Immernacht and assuming she doesn't take him there for his own safety. Fischl, on her end, laments Bennett's misfortune, while Oz suggests she's highly protective of him because of his bad luck.
• As of the “ Waterborne Poetry” Event, Noelle and Mika demonstrated good chemistry. Both are very humble and shy, extremely skilled in their jobs, and have a similar way of thinking during the poetry event.
  • Despite being new to poetry composition, both guess at the same time that one of the riddles of the festival was a reference to the Cecilia, a Mondstadt flower that grows in the highest hills and symbolizes love.
  • When both are paired with Xingqiu, Mika gets a good boost to his self-esteem on how his passion for the job is what makes him a heroic character too. Moved by this, he shares this with Noelle, praising her for her talent and her dedication to the Knights of Favonius, which causes Noelle to blush.

Liyue

With the Traveler

• Xiangling's voice line for Friendship Level 6 has her get uncharacteristically nervous when the Traveler puts her on the spot as well as expressing concern over letting them try her dishes for fear of upsetting their stomach.
• Chongyun's voice line at Friendship Level 6 implies he wants to be intimate with the Traveler, mentioning his desire to try activities of a "passionate nature" that just thinking of is "too stimulating".
• Shenhe becomes very attached to the Traveler, her first human friend. During an optional conversation in the "Fleeting Colors in Flight" event, she seems rather disappointed when the Traveler tells her that they have no plans to settle down in Liyue. In "Of Drink a-Dreaming", she heads north to Mondstadt to order a drink from Angel's Share specifically because she heard the Traveler is acting as a bartender for the week.
  • Xianyun's character trailer implies that she approves of the potential relationship between Shenhe and the Traveler as she secretly restocks her pond on Mt. Aocang so that the Traveler can fish there. Shenhe can be seen watching the Traveler from behind a tree while Cloud Retainer is doing the same thing and watching them from behind another tree.
• Yun Jin gets flustered when the Traveler calls her more relaxed personality cuter and caps off one ending of her Hangout Event by glomping them from behind. In another route, a tabloid journalist tries to question her about her relationship with the Traveler, though in that case, it's obvious he's just trying to spread gossip.
• Several subtle and not-as-subtle hints that can be interpreted as Keqing having a thing for the Traveler.
  • In her "Hello" voice-over, she invites the Traveler to join her and "bear witness" to the "historical moment" that is Liyue's rapidly changing nature.
  • Her "About Us - Trying" line is a little less subtle as if trying to rouse the Traveler like a very close friend would.
    (About Us - Trying) "It's not difficult, you'll see. Just give it a try. What if you try and it doesn't work out? ...No, I don't believe that will happen. You've never let me down before, you don't seem the type."
  • One of her "More About" voice-overs, however, makes it even more explicit and might raise eyebrows...
    (More about Keqing - IV) "We've been on our fair share of adventures together, haven't we? The more time we spend together, the more I think you're the person of my dreams, and- Huh? Why so shocked? You're a crucial part of my dreams for the new Liyue."
  • The letter she sends the Traveler on her birthday in 2020 reads like she is asking them out on a date, especially with the final sentence, which might raise eyebrows as well.
    "[...] That way, we can spend some leisure time shopping together - just the two of us."
  • The second Lantern Rite event involves the Traveler attempting to convince Keqing to take a break and enjoy the festival, since, as Ningguang puts it, they and the Yuheng are close. She also gets visibly flustered when the Traveler suggests that the two of them watch the fireworks together. At the festival itself, she seems all too eager to show the Traveler their new outfit and even states that she wishes they could spend more time together once the festival is over.
• Xiao is initially distant to the Traveler, but consecutive game versions show the romantic, slow-burn development of their relationship.
  • The song that briefly plays when Xiao and the Traveler first meet, right before he shows up, is titled "Lover's Oath".^note For the Tuned to the World's Sounds event, a zither variant of this song titled "Lone Tower in the West" plays. The song's name in Chinese, 蒲苇如丝 (Púwěirúsī)^note literally translated as Silk-like Pampas Grass, references a line^note 君当作磐石，妾当作蒲苇。蒲苇纫如丝，磐石无转移。("You must be like the solid boulder, I like a rush or a reed. Rushes and reeds can be strong as well as pliant, just so the boulder does not move.") from a poem about a married couple who promised everlasting devotion to each other and swore to be reunited when the wife was kicked out of the husband's household, which is most likely the "Lover's Oath" that the English translation is referencing. Curiously, this song was never played again during any other instance in-game.
  • After Osial destroys the Guizhong Ballista during the Liyue Archon Quest, Xiao personally went out to save the Traveler from falling to their death, despite only knowing them briefly, holding them up and holding their hand for a while afterward.
  • Xiao is shown to be protective of the Traveler, something that's made very apparent by his Hello voice line. He often reminds them to be wary of danger, his first oath to them is to call for him if they are in danger, and will still come to their rescue even if they didn't. He even gifts them a handmade butterfly made of leaves for the Traveler's birthday, stating that it's an adepti amulet that will keep them from harm. During Xianyun's story quest he reminds them once more to call him if they are in trouble, but also trusts in his fellow adeptus to keep them safe from harm.
  • Some characters in-game also seem to acknowledge the depth of their relationship:
    • Zhongli's voice lines show that he trusts in the Traveler to hand Xiao his remedium tertiorum medicine in his stead. During one of the hidden, real time-locked conversations with Zhongli on Lantern Rite 2022, he talks about Xiao's penchant for solitude but also believes he wouldn't turn away the Traveler, whom Zhongli considers as a reliable companion of Xiao's. Their parting conversation during Lantern Rite 2023's epilogue has Zhongli remarking that despite Xiao's unapproachable air, the Traveler befriended him anyway and proved otherwise, confirming that mortals' perceptions of gods and adepti aren't always correct.
    • Xianyun's voice lines state that she is curious about the conversations they have, remarking that they are on good terms despite Xiao's closed-off personality.
    • Shenhe's voice lines seem to allude to this notion as well. Her initial impression of Xiao is that he's unsmiling but that he seemed more relaxed after seeing him more recently, concluding that he must have met someone special. The 'special person' in question is most likely the Traveler, who is not only kind and amiable, but also someone new to Xiao.
  • While he makes it clear that he has no interest in mortal affairs, he is certainly willing to try Genius Invokation TCG and enjoys playing with the Traveler. He praises them whenever they defeat his cards, and hopes they are still having fun when he does the same in turn.
    "I'm not familiar with this game, but with you here, this should be worth the time spent."
  • He thanks the Traveler for telling him stories of their travels and is relieved they're not hurt in his White Day 2023 artwork. While he doesn't have any anecdotes to share, he prepares for them a bag of energy-restoring snacks instead.
  • From his profile voice lines:
    • Unlike the English version which cut out a portion of his original line (presumably to fit his characterization in said dub), the rest of the languages state that he will be around waiting for the Traveler to return in his Good Night line.
    • Despite warning that he will have no mercy if they end up falling into the darkness, Xiao actually believes that the Traveler will be able to hold out on their own against corruption.
    • Even early on in their association, Xiao offers to accompany the Traveler during the Lantern Rite if they're bored, even if he thinks the entire celebration is childish.
    • He is very much willing to get his hands dirty for the Traveler.
      "I deal in death. If you cannot bring yourself to kill — speak my name."
    • He chuckles and expresses his sincere thanks when the Traveler tells him of their desire to get Baizhu to make medicine for him, even though they don't work on adepti.
    • In his voice line about Shenhe, he's not surprised the Traveler managed to befriend her, because he sees them as someone kind and good-natured.
    • Xiao expresses his surprise when the Traveler says they do not wish to sever the strong connection they've formed together, and admits quietly that despite all the fighting he still has to do, he also wants to know more about them.
    • In his Ascension: Conclusion line, Xiao is in disbelief when the Traveler tells them they want to be companions and find him salvation, hopelessly remarking that they're difficult to understand.
    • The English translation doesn't say it at all but in the original Chinese, one of his treasure chest opening lines states that he readily gives whatever he finds to the Traveler, as long as it is useful to them.
  • On his various birthday celebrations:
    • According to his 2020 birthday artwork, the Traveler is the first person to celebrate his birthday in thousands of years. He tells them not to fret over it though, and invites them out to eat with him.
    • Xiao's first birthday letter includes a bunch of crystalflies he personally caught for the Traveler to put in their hair because he thought it would look pretty. In Chinese culture (which serves as Liyue's inspiration), butterflies can represent love, specifically young love, and symbolize an undying bond between lovers. In that same letter, Xiao says he doesn't care for celebrations and spending time with them is enough for him.
    • In the caption of his 2021 birthday artwork, he thanks the Traveler for bringing him to a beautiful place and believes their trip will create more memories.
    • His second birthday letter mentions that the only thing he needs to hear aside from the sounds relating to his work as a yaksha is the Traveler's voice. In that same letter, he mentions not being able to hear anything from the starconches he collects by the sea, so he invites the Traveler to tell him about the things they hear instead.
      "The wrath of evil spirits, omens of calamity... and your voice. That's all I need to hear."
    • He removes a leaf stuck in the Traveler's clothes in the caption of his 2022 birthday artwork, showing how attentive and subtly doting he can be, and is a bit confused when the Traveler asks if they could keep it.
    • In his 2022 chibi birthday artwork, the Traveler and Paimon encounter a sleeping Xiao in Wangshu Inn. Paimon calls out to him so they can eat almond tofu together but the Traveler quickly hushes her, wanting Xiao to rest a little longer. It certainly shows their mutual concern for each other.
    • Despite the Traveler's inability to play a single note on the flute in his 2022 birthday web event short, Xiao still teleports to their location, showing that their talent didn't matter at all to him; he is simply eager to see them and appreciates their visit.
    • In his third birthday letter, Xiao recounts his attempt at heeding the Traveler's advice to socialize more, understanding that who the people by his side are is most important to him. It ends with him inviting them to the adepti's impromptu gathering, saying:
      "Having you around would make even (bitter) Qingxin feel like a treat."
    • He talks about having an uneventful day until the Traveler arrives in his 2023 birthday artwork, and invites them to patrol with him after his meal.
    • The caption that accompanies his 2023 chibi birthday artwork has him stating that he now looks forward to his birthdays after spending lots of time with the Traveler. He promises to take care of their gift, and even smiles as he looks directly at where they presumably would be off-screen.
    • Xiao's 2023 birthday web event short has him letting his guard down to rest peacefully beside the Traveler and Paimon as they look out for him under the sun, with the Traveler even holding an umbrella up for him. Pretty telling for a yaksha who claims to not need sleep.
    • His fourth birthday letter has him flat out state that he previously didn't like dreaming because of his nightmares, but he's been recurrently having "sweet dreams" of going on dates with the Traveler as of late, and hence he wrote the letter as an invitation to meet them in reality.
    • The caption of his 2024 birthday artwork shows that they do meet up. Xiao acknowledges himself that they've known each other for so long they don't have to act formally around him. He gifts the Traveler a small bouquet of qingxin flowers and gazes at them with a tender smile on his face, the happiest he's ever looked since the start of the game.
  • From his Serenitea Pot lines:
    • Xiao is endearingly consistent and straightforward in his Good Morning line: that the Traveler shouldn't be stubborn and call for him if they need help. In contrast, his Good Night line is more timid, with him having trouble saying that he had fun with them that day.
    • In one of his lines, he vows to protect the Traveler's realm and appreciates the kindness they bestow upon him even though he is aware his life cannot have a semblance of peace.
    • Xiao is not fond of idle chatter but says that he will try conversing for the Traveler's sake, surprised at the thought of them seeking his company. When asked about the state of his karmic debt, he admits that the pain has been less excruciating, though he is not certain whether the Traveler has anything to do with it.
    • Xiao expresses his desire to visit Liyue Harbor together with the Traveler with the explicit intent to experience the stories and joys of mortal life. Xiao also admits readily when the Traveler asks if he's doing it for them, going on to say that he wants to understand them even though he knows he will face difficulties.
  • During the 2021 Moonchase Festival event Moonlight Merriment:
    • Smiley Yanxiao asks if the Traveler could teach him the Satisfying Salad recipe they made for Xiao when they first met. He says that Xiao ate it up the last time even though he usually wouldn't eat anything else besides Almond Tofu. Xiao likely appreciated the effort they went through for an audience with him back when they first met.
    • Despite Paimon yelling for Xiao twice, all it takes for Xiao to appear is the Traveler gently calling out his name. When the Traveler expresses their surprise, Xiao says that he always keeps his vow, that all they have to do is call his name and he'll be at their side.
    • The Traveler chooses Xiao to test Xiangling's milder dishes, mindful of the yaksha's light taste in food. When the chef asks him to sample her cooking, Xiao immediately obliges for the Traveler's sake.
  • During the 2022 Lantern Rite event Fleeting Colors in Flight:
    • Though Xiao only had a brief appearance during this event, he still managed to share some moments with the Traveler:
      • The Traveler accompanies Keqing to bring gifts to the adepti in Mount Aocang. While she socializes with Ganyu, Shenhe and Cloud Retainer, the Traveler proposes a change of topic and immediately asks if Xiao is around.
      • Xiao prepares to leave after Keqing hands him gifts courtesy of the Qixing, but not before reminding the Traveler to stay safe as usual.
      • Xiao defaults to watching the fireworks from Pervases' temple, still unable to bring himself to visit the harbor. He correctly deduces the Traveler's attempt to bring him to the city again this year and though he declines, he is no longer irked by their invitation. Xiao reassures them that he'll be fine and that anyone who wishes to see him will come and find him anyway, which is probably why he's not surprised they found him in the first place.
  • During the second Archon Quest Interlude chapter Perilous Trails:
    • While trying to convince Xiao to regroup with them, Yanfei mentions that the Traveler was tricked into going to a dangerous place. Xiao, who was initially opposed to the idea, immediately asks how to meet them.
    • After Xiao argues with Yelan, Yanfei approaches the Traveler to apologize to him on the latter's behalf, citing later on that they and the Yaksha "seem pretty close."
    • If the camera angle and the characters' positions are any indication, it appears that Xiao glances at the Traveler one last time◊ before he teleports the entire party away from the platform. Interestingly, the Traveler is also the first one to realize Xiao's plan,◊ mere seconds before Yelan catches on and reaches out to him.
    • After Xiao is saved from his self-sacrifice gambit, the Traveler is the first to rush to his side.
    • At the end of the quest, Xiao waits at the side for the Traveler to wrap things up with the rest of the group, with the Traveler remarking it was obvious he was waiting for them. Xiao then invites them to visit Pervases' shrine together. There, he confides in them his private thoughts about their recent adventure and reminisces about his siblings-in-arms. He even mentions that he doesn't feel the need to "hold back as much" while talking to them.
    • Out of everyone that was in the Chasm's Bed, the Traveler was the one entrusted by Ushi to tell Xiao he doesn't have to close himself off from others and "there will always be someone willing to be by (his) side." They tell him that Bosacius, Boyang, and the Millelith's sacrifices in the Chasm make them heroes; Xiao finds the word agreeable and accepts their statement, declaring that "the darkest hearts have room for those they cherish" and that "heroes will always look out for each other."
  • During the 2023 Lantern Rite event The Exquisite Night Chimes:
    • The Traveler pretends to drown in an attempt to summon the Adeptus that Dvorak mentioned, and Xiao shows up unprompted to rescue them out of the water along with Shenhe. While the group nervously attempts to explain the circumstances of their drowning attempt, he doesn't scold them and makes a quiet, distressed face instead. After confirming that they were alright, he warns them not to do it again, saying they "caused others a great deal of worry."
    • Hu Tao makes them sit together after the Traveler confirms they are old companions. Later on, she points out their closeness when the Traveler correctly deduces that Xiao's reservations are due to his karmic debt.
    • When Xiao begins to feel overwhelmed during Hu Tao's dinner, the Traveler immediately takes notice and accompanies him outside the Xinyue Kiosk for a breather. While outside, he confides in them his insecurities about blending in with mortals and is subsequently comforted by the Traveler, who tells him he doesn't need to be like Zhongli or Venti; it's okay to be himself. Xiao also feels much more comfortable talking about his old yaksha companions with them unlike in the past.
    • Xiao admits that he knew the Traveler will be coming to the dinner party when Hu Tao reassured him that every guest will be acquainted with elemental power, perhaps serving as another push to get him to partake in the festivities.
    • When Xiao appears to leave when Xiangling worries for him, the Traveler tells him not to 'lemniscatic wind cycle' out of this situation (to which Xiao responds that he wouldn't), showing how far they've come from a polite yet distant association to such casual familiarity.
    • Xiao specifically says in the Chinese voice-over that he "occasionally thinks of the times they hang out" and he feels emotions that are "strange and novel but not unwelcome," implying that those said feelings are something he's never experienced with anyone else before.
    • During their final conversation with Zhongli, the Traveler gets an option to tease Xiao or step in for his sake. They can either play along with Zhongli and call him by his respectful title 'Adeptus Xiao' (which greatly flusters the yaksha) or step in and tell Zhongli not to tease him too much, another showcase of how close their relationship has gotten throughout time.
    • Xiao appears in Wangshu Inn's top balcony after finishing the epilogue. He shares the almond tofu given by Smiley Yanxiao and Xiangling with the Traveler and invites them to tell him more stories about the mortal world, promising that he will listen intently.
    • In the last few seconds of the 2023 Lantern Rite promotional video, the Traveler (depicted as Aether) joins Xiao on a rooftop in a private corner of the city to watch the Xiao lanterns float into the sky, with Xiao briefly glancing at the Traveler settling next to him with a smile. The whole scene appears like an intimate date night.
  • During the 4.1 flagship event Waterborne Poetry:
    • Xiao initially refuses to participate when invited by both Hu Tao and Venti, looking uncomfortable with the mere notion of being around people. He eventually concedes and says he'll think about it when the Traveler asks nicely, further reassured when Venti adds that there won't be anything to fear as long as they are present.
    • On the second day of the event, Xiao is shown to be observing the gala from afar. He patrols the area after hearing about Chongyun's encounter and attempts to leave when he's done, only to be stopped by the Traveler who invites him to join their walk. Xiao later contributes significant help by suggesting they go upstream to send a response to the poem on the leaf they found. While the others are busy scattering leaves, the Traveler approaches Xiao in the sidelines and praises him for the great idea, going as far as to encourage him to write poems as well. The two continue talking intimately by themselves until Paimon interrupts, asking if they're having a private chat.
    • Upon seeing the yaksha from afar, the Traveler gets inspired and improvises a verse about qingxin and Xiao's signature dish Sweet Dream; they basically compare a sweet dessert helping one sleep well at night to people sleeping peacefully thanks to Xiao's protection. Xiao is visibly taken aback after listening, and teleports away with a rare content smile on his face.
    • Later on by the end of the event, Xiao follows the Traveler's earlier advice and composes his own poem for his fallen yaksha comrades, showing that he takes their words to heart. He then muses that he feels much calmer after the fact.
  • During the 2024 Lantern Rite event Vibrant Harriers Aloft in Spring Breeze:
    • Xiao is one of the characters that players can interact with in the related China-exclusive event 原神海灯节电话 ("Genshin Lantern Rite Phone Call"), where they give out Chinese New Year greetings in the form of voice mails. In his message, Xiao wonders why the Traveler has not called them in a while, curious about how they've been and where they have gone to recently, but is relieved to know they are alright. He then reminds them that Lantern Rite is approaching once more and that they should go and participate, adding that he will watch the lights and their silhouette from afar.
    • Xiao drops an invitation to meet at Pervases' temple when the festivities are over in the middle of an unrelated conversation, managing to get the words out despite his earnest dedication to assist Zhongli with his kite-testing. It is also an instance where he does the inviting first, instead of the other way around where the Traveler usually ropes him into joining them on their shenanigans.
    • When they meet, he admits to the Traveler that he wishes to release his first Xiao Lantern and for them to be his witness. He apologizes for its crude appearance, and remarks on how kind the Traveler is as usual when they beam and tell him it looks amazing. They then quietly release it together to the sky, and the Traveler notes that his expression softened at the sight. It's a really short yet sweet moment that shows just how comfortable and safe Xiao feels around them, and how far their relationship has come. Furthermore, unlike the other overworld interactions with playable characters, the lantern releasing scene plays out in a Visual Novel-esque manner with changing camera angles, and Paimon is conspicuously absent.

• With Zhongli:
  • Zhongli often talks to the Traveler about matters that are quite sensitive and only a handful of individuals know (i.e., the real circumstances of Havria's demise, his erosion, and the reason for Azdhaha's sealing), which shows how much he trusts the Traveler implicitly. It also helps that Zhongli tends to ask the Traveler to fetch items he needs, usually of important/priceless value.
  • During the Liyue Archon quest, Zhongli compliments the Traveler's voice, certain their singing will cause a patch of Glaze Lilies to bloom.
  • When Zhongli can't tell the Traveler about the war with Khaenri'ah due to a contract he made, he's visibly distressed and apologetic over being unable to help them.
  • On his birthday letters to the Traveler, Zhongli always mentions how much he cherishes them and is always willing to regale them with tales and stories of the past where they are to visit.

Between Characters

• Rex Lapis and Guizhong's first encounter in a field filled with Guizhong's favorite Glaze Lilies sounds like a Meet Cute in a Garden of Love. They went on to co-rule a nation named after a Portmanteau of their names, and even as Morax acknowledged that they were simply cooperating because their interests aligned, he trusted Guizhong enough to never feel the need to establish any of the contracts he is known for with her. Thousands of years after Guizhong's passing, Zhongli still keeps the Memory of Dust Guizhong made as a symbol of their "pledge" by his side, and occasionally visits the stone table where he used to drink with her and Cloud Retainer to quietly reminisce alone.
• Rex Lapis (Zhongli) and Xianyun:
  • When Cloud Retainer first finds out about Rex Lapis’ death, she is so enraged that she initially wants to destroy Liyue Harbor in grief.
  • She keeps a table with three seats she saves for herself, Rex Lapis and Guizhong. In Shenhe’s lines about Zhongli, she tells that Cloud Retainer, who is usually very territorial unless she gets food offerings, gave her specific instructions about not bothering him whenever he strolled around Mt. Aozang and sat on her table, implying that she already figured out his identity after his fake death and respected his choice.
  • During the 2023 Lantern Rite event ''The Exquisite Night Chimes, it was revealed that she and Guizhong were frequent rivals and Rex Lapis was the one in charge of acting as a judge between them, often giving the victory to Guizhong. One could interpret her reactions to the defeats as part of her Competition Freak personality, as well as a bit of jealousy for not getting his complete approval.
  • In Xianyun's story quest, Zhongli and Xianyun finally meet each other in their human disguises, with many fans seeing their reunion as old friends reconnecting.
    • When Xianyun decides to move to the city and raise some funds by selling her old gadgets, she is pleasantly taken aback by Zhongli's appearance as the consultant hired to appraise them. They exchange some awkward yet polite greetings, and Zhongli is quick to assure that all of her items are of the highest quality. This leaves Xianyun very touched, expressing humility for the compliments and gladness for getting Rex Lapis’ complete acknowledgment and approval. When the client starts to question their personal bonds and wonders if they are both attempting to scam him, both are offended, with Zhongli sounding more concerned about his honor, while Xianyun denies their relationship with a little upsetness and embarrassment.
  • In their voice lines about each other, Xianyun tells that she asked Zhongli about what to do when moving in to the city, getting a lot of advice about decorating her new house, and she took the time to listen even when she did not have as much interest in the specifics as he did. Zhongli, on the other hand, has nothing but compliments about her finesse.

Inazuma

With the Traveler

• There are plenty of moments in the interactions between the Traveler and Yoimiya.
  • Watching a fireworks festival together is an activity with a lot of romantic significance in Japan, which is alluded to twice by her.
    • Yoimiya and the Traveler watch the fireworks festival together at the end of her story quest. In that same quest, she also asks the Traveler if they'd consider staying in Inazuma once their journey is finished.
    • In her "More About: V" voice-over, Yoimiya also suggests that, instead of finishing the tale about her family, they should sit and watch the fireworks in silence, claiming "[their] story is only just beginning".
  • The end of her second story quest has Yoimiya grab ahold of the Traveler's hand and jump off of a cliff, landing on a star in the Mahavanaranapna dream realm. Immediately followed by catching a free-falling Yoimiya midair and holding her in a Bridal Carry while watching the meteor shower.
• Some of the dialogue towards the Traveler in Heizou's Hangout Event can come across as very flirty. Especially when he claims to have wanted to meet them since before they even arrived in Inazuma, and calls them “dreamy” in a swooning tone. Furthermore, a considerable amount of the dialogue choices available in almost all paths tend to give a heart of approval.
• Ayaka's Story Quest, playable voiceovers, and other interactions make it very clear she's developed feelings for the Traveler, as well as showing a few opportunities to suggest it's not unrequited. She performs a private dance for the Traveler and is very attached to them as her first friend. The "Warrior's Spirit" event in version 3.4, whose final act unlocked on Valentine's Day 2023, had the vibe of a date with Ayaka who was wearing her new outfit (Springbloom Missive). It concluded with her flat-out telling the Traveler that if she steals their sword, their life will be in her hands, followed by her telling the Traveler to keep what she said a secret and winking at them.
• A few of her voice-overs show Kokomi may have a thing for the Traveler, such as offering them a walk when the sun is out, inviting them to read books with her and lamenting the Traveler would sleep on the floor, and preparing a schedule of the activities they could do in the Traveler's birthday — the latter of which sounds more like a date.
  • Notably, her Story Quest reveals she keeps notes of her energy levels, assigning them numbers depending on how exhausted she feels. The Traveler returning marks an increase of 9 points, the biggest change in the whole document.
  • During the Three Realms Gateway Offering, a shrine maiden seems incredibly happy to see the Traveler and Kokomi together and makes a big deal out of the fact she allows the Traveler to call her by her first name.
• One of the routes of Gorou's Hangout Event has the Traveler offer to teach him to overcome his fear of people like Yae Miko by imitating them. Some of the dialogue options here, are incredibly flirty, as if the Traveler is having fun taking on the role of an aggressive tease (one bit of dialogue has the Traveler using lines spoken by Fatui Electro Cicin Mages like "Are you here to play with me?"). On the other hand, Miko's counterplan to Gorou attempting to confront her directly in another route is to suggest that the Traveler and Gorou are there to divine their future as a couple. Gorou is as defensive as ever, but Miko notes that his tail is swishing. Given that part of the advice that was given to him was that one of the ways to get a one-up on someone like her in a situation like this is to compromise somehow, it's likely he was considering taking her up on that offer before deciding against it.
• In Thoma's Hangout, there are two sweet endings.
  • If nobody assists Thoma's Home Economy community class, he gives a private lesson to the Traveler on how to knit.
  • In another ending, Thoma and the Traveler are hanging out at Hanamizaka, after giving all the stray cats and dogs Thoma's knit sweaters.
  • Thoma gives a flower bouquet to the Traveler after a day in Ritou.

Between Characters

• Itto and Sara are seen by shippers as having Belligerent Sexual Tension:
  • After being defeated by her and getting his vision confiscated, Itto is determined to have a rematch with her no matter what and is often leaving board messages for her, even wishing her to remain alive after the battle so they can fight again. Instead of ignoring him, Sara makes an effort to reply to them.
  • Itto's conversation with Sara in his Character Demo may come off as flirting:
    Itto: Ah! Nice of you to join us, General Kujou. Are you here to make me beg for mercy too?
    Sara: Final warning. Surrender your Vision now, Arataki Itto.
    Itto: (Chuckles) Oh, but General, if you join the Arataki Gang now, (beckons to her with his hand) I can show you what dreams are made of...
  • According to Itto's character story, his most memorable defeats were against a Tengu. While the most known is his duel with Sara during the Vision Hunt Decree, he had a wrestling match with a young tengu boy, which resulted in both of them falling off the mountain. It's heavily implied that it might be a Forgotten First Meeting and Itto doesn't recognize the Tengu because Sara used to have shorter hair.
  • During the "Almighty Arataki Great & Glorious Drumalong" event, Itto invited Sara as well (because he wants to defeat her and she is a friend of Shinobu). Sara reluctantly goes to leave safety warnings and advisories on the festival's bulletin board, which Itto sees it as bullying on her part. However, a message left by one of her subordinates reveals that she did seem to express interest in the event, prompting some of her subordinates to check it out and even join in. Furthermore, when Itto gets arrested for attempting to invite the Raiden Shogun to the festival and nearly gets charged with a felony, Sara, who is defined by her Undying Loyalty to her Archon and does not suffer insults towards her lightly, actually steps in to downgrade it to a misdemeanour.
• Itto and Yoimiya share some shipping moments in their lines for each other:
  • Itto expresses some jealousy that Yoimiya so easily wins the hearts of kids over and challenges her to friendly eating contests, which Yoimiya always accepts.
  • Yoimiya, who is an empath, immediately recognizes Itto's heart of gold despite his Face of a Thug. She's even surprised to learn he's a criminal because of how friendly he is towards both her and children.
  • Yoimiya is one of the few people who helps Itto set up the "Almighty Arataki Great & Glorious Drumalong Festival", selling him some fireworks and approving of his desire to institute a new event. Itto is positively radiant when talking about Yoimiya and expresses a desire to see her again.
• Iwakura Doukei (né Mikoshi Michihiro) and Teruyo were a historical male oni-human hybrid and a female tengu whose relationship seems to parallel Itto's and Sara's. Mikoshi Michihiro met Teruyo while living in shame and seclusion after his mother Chiyo dishonoured his clan by attacking the Raiden Shogun. Teruyo renamed him Iwakura (and called him dumb, giving him a name meaning "seat of rock" as his mind was like a rock) and challenged him to beat her to help him leave his past behind. When he eventually did, Iwakura wanted to invite Teruyo to duel at a new place where they could watch the Cherry Blossoms fall, and though it is implied that she did want to agree, Teruyo was steadfast to her duty and asked him to forget her. At any rate, Iwakura ignored her last instruction, keeping one of her feathers, the Sundered Feather artifact, as a "treasured souvenir", and continued to remember her even as he grew in prominence for the rest of his life.

Sumeru

With the Traveler

• A few of Nilou's voice-overs have some clear hints that she's got a thing for the Traveler.
  (More About Nilou: V) "Someone once told me that I was like a shining oasis that restored life and happiness to others with its warmth. That was nice of them to say, and I was happy to hear it, but... what I want to show people is much more than that. After spending so much time with you, though, I finally understand how it feels to have someone care for and look after you. Now... Now, I feel like that comparison is a far better one for you."
  (Feelings About Ascension: Conclusion) "I really like being with you. I don't know why, but it feels like a butterfly is trying to burst out of my chest... Anyway, how about I show a new dance to you?"
• The Wanderer acts in a very Tsundere manner towards the Traveler. He repeatedly tries to deny any fondness he may feel for them, or complain while insisting they take the food he made. Although he insists the Traveler can throw them away, he not so subtly wants to hear what they think. His 2024 birthday message even has him say that being reminded of his birthday made him remember that there was someone (the Traveler) he needed to give a gift to, indicating that he considers it important.

Between Characters

• Alhaitham and Nilou.
  • Despite the Sages looking down on her for being a performer, Alhaitham praises her dedication to her art in his voice lines.
  About Nilou: The strengths and weaknesses of a performing artist are quite clear. Nilou knows how to play to her strengths, which enables her to live a happy and simple life.
  • Despite not knowing each other before the Archon Quest, Alhaitham was already aware of who Nilou was, so he considered her for his plan.
  • As a signal for Nilou's part, Alhaitham gives her a subtle smile, while being dragged unconscious by the guards. Alhaitham already trusted her enough with her part.
  • For the “Parade of Providence” event, Alhaitham and Nilou are made the commentators of the tournament. Despite being complete opposites in personality, they get along very well, and Nilou doesn’t get put off by Alhaitham's brief commentaries or sarcastic remarks.
• Dehya and Alhaitham have a surprisingly good friendship after the Archon Quest. Surprisingly, he gets along with Dehya, praising her smart mindset, and that she would be an excellent addition to the Akademiya if she decides to take a break from being a mercenary. Dehya politely declines but receives well the compliment. After the Archon Quest, she and Alhaitham are seen getting along well during Cyno's party. In his voice lines about Dehya, Alhaitham laments that she has potentially wasted with the Eremites, but understands that she might find the scholar life boring.
• While small but very popular, Cyno and Nilou get often shipped. After meeting each other during the Archon quest, Nilou has the initiative to organize a banquet to celebrate Cyno’s reintegration to his position as General Mahamatra, as well as the victory of the team. In their voice lines about each other, Nilou had some misconceptions about people from the Akademiya until she hears that Cyno plays Genius Invokation TCG, while Cyno admires her dedication to the arts and her good intentions of bringing joy to people.
• The "Parade of Providence" event presented the Kaveh/Faruzan ship. Faruzan sees all of the Akademiya scholars as her juniors because she is chronologically 100 years old, so she is naturally protective of Kaveh. They team up for the first round of the competition, but the points couldn't be divided between them, so Kaveh decides to draw straws, ending up losing because of his bad luck. For the next round in the desert, it results in both having to decide who took the remaining point, and it's implied that Faruzan let herself lose the draw so Kaveh can have it. In their voice lines about each other, Faruzan has taken a liking for Kaveh's creativity and passion, she is also aware of his financial situation and makes a promise to herself to invite him for a meal. On the other hand, Kaveh can see through her temperament and intensity her good intentions and admires her for that.

Fontaine

With the Traveler

• Lyney's voice lines and actions imply that he is romantically interested in the Traveler.
  • In his playable voiceovers, he often flirts with the Traveler, repeatedly complimenting their beauty and insinuating he enjoys their company very much.
  • At the end of his Story Quest, Lyney gives the Traveler a Rainbow Rose. Unlike roses in Mondstadt's language of flowers, Rainbow Roses in Fontaine represent passion and romantic encounters, which he had already known about. He also reacts in an uncharacteristically embarrassed manner when Paimon lets this slip in front of Lynette and Charlotte.
  • The magic trick involving a disappearing Rainbow Rose that Lyney performs privately for the Traveler is the same one that his mentor, Cesar, performed for his fiancee to show his interest in her.
  • In the Teapot, the Traveler gets the opportunity to tease Lyney by saying he’s stolen their heart. In response, Lyney is happy, surprised, but somewhat flustered. If the Traveler instead suggests that Lyney stole their wallet, he says that he actually stole their "attention", which is (in his words) "far more valuable" than Mora.
  • Lyney’s 2024 CN exclusive birthday art has him gifting rainbow roses to the Traveler. In Lumine’s version, she’s even blushing.
• Navia has more than a few moments that suggest something between her and the Traveler:
  • In her Character Teaser, she invites Aether to a banquet and says that a celebration of the reconstruction of Poisson would be incomplete without her "partner". It's not hard to read that as a romantic Double Entendre, given that she doesn't mention their investigations.
  • One of Navia's voice-overs states that she likes being called "partner", but only by the Traveler, and wants the Traveler to do that more often.
  • Navia's Story Quest takes all that to the next level. After tiring herself out after an action sequence and needing to be carried back to Poisson by the Traveler, she asks the Traveler if they genuinely consider her as a partner, and the Traveler answers in the affirmative. This scene is fully voiced (including the Traveler's dialogue) with a special CG!

Between Characters

• In Chapter IV Act 4, Wriothesley and Clorinde showed excellent chemistry and trust in each other in a Battle Couple scene where they worked in perfect synchro trying to contain the Primordial Sea, all while having Casual Danger Dialogue, which includes a Side Bet and already knowing what to give each other as reward (Clorinde jokes that Wriothesley doesn't need more tea, so he is getting the Law Codes to read).
  • During the aftermath of the Archon Quest, Clorinde guesses that Wriothesley also invited Navia to have tea, to which Navia admits that they had two whole teapots. Clorinde admits quite pleased that Wriothesley has a really good selection.
  • When Charlotte talks to Clorinde about her plans to get an interview at Fortress of Meropide, Clorinde predicts that Wriothesley might not agree to appear in the newspaper. She is on the spot, as Wriothesley later reminds her that he agreed to have her in the Fortress as long as he doesn't appear in the interview.
  • In the epilogue of “Vibrant Harriers Aloft in Spring Breeze”, Clorinde fulfills her part of the bet with Wriothesley and buys him some teas from Liyue. She mentions that she never buys things for herself, meaning that she only bought a gift thinking of him, considering that Wriothesley would be happy with anything from her even if it was just wild mint leaves.
• Navia has a hard time being calm around Neuvillette because she thinks he is being insincere whenever he apologizes about her father's death when in reality he is bad at expressing his feelings, which is reflected in the heavy rain after Neuvillette runs into her. Once Navia and Neuvillette clear the air and she forgives him, the weather starts to get better, reflecting how Neuvillette is happy about being on good terms with Navia.
  • During Act V, Neuvillette rescues Navia from the Primordial Sea in the nick of time. While she was unconscious, Navia had a dream where she was being judged by the people who merged with the Primordial Sea, and then Neuvillette appears, encouraging her to return to the real world along with Melus and Silver. After making sure that Navia is fine, Neuvillette, not so subtly, calls the Traveler and Paimon away to give her some time to cope. Neuvillette still feels awkward about his social interactions with her, but he can understand her feelings and what she needs at the time.
• Furina/Focalors and Neuvillette have a uniquely deep understanding of each other developed from being co-rulers of Fontaine for the past 500 years.
  • Neuvillette served faithfully as the Iudex at Focalors' invitation since she became Archon, presiding over trials "out of duty", while Furina trusts him to protect her from Arlecchino (and is comfortable enough to almost get into Neuvillette's face while begging him to accompany her). While Neuvillette is often exasperated by Furina, he defends her (while she wasn't even in the same place!) by saying that she's taking the prophecy seriously, tells her right to her face that he doesn't believe she's as superficial as she presents herself to be. After the conclusion of Act V, his voice line about her reveal he views her in extremely high regard after bearing the weight of godhood alone for 500 years.
  • One of Elphane's dialogues implies that Furina and Neuvillette take their private transportation together when going to and leaving Opera Epiclese to prevent gossip from spreading.
    Elphane: I doubt this is because they don't wish to associate with the common folk. I suspect they simply don't wish to see their private words and deeds appearing in The Steambird blown out of proportion...
  • It's implied that he's been watching her performances for 500 years. Aeval says in her tour lines that she likes Furina's performances and even Neuvillette was "shaking his head in shock" after watching one of Furina's shows. Neuvillette even admits that he's also enthralled by Furina's performances on the stage and hopes that she'll understand that everyone, even him, sincerely appreciates her on her Story Quest.
  • Furina playfully flicks Neuvillette's hair while giggling in her Character Demo.
  • Furina has no problems casually calling Neuvillette various nicknames like "My dear Iudex" and My dear Chief Justice" even in a professional setting like a trial. In Neuvillette's story 4, she even addresses him as "A special you, a unique you" in the letter she (as Focalors) sent to him 500 years ago.
  • Furina/Focalors has encouraged Neuvillette many times to mingle with humanity, and he keeps her words to heart as shown when he reminisces about it during his character trailer and one of his character stories. If his Story Quest is completed before finishing Act V, Furina leaves a letter on his desk saying that she's happy he took a day off and reminds him to go outside often, and he's shown to be fondly exasperated by her words.
  • While it is an excuse to weasel out when Neuvillette confronts her for the prophecy, Furina jokingly remarks that she didn't know he was watching her for a long time and he's "that type" during their argument, making him speechless.
  • As Neuvillette pronounces Furina guilty of being a false god, Furina's growing despair is depicted as her standing in a black void crying alone, "seeing" Neuvillette (and only him) shake his head in disappointment and turning away as she fails to reach out to him. Furina performed her Endless Solo of Solitude to save all of Fontaine, but The Reveal hurt the both of them on a personal level.
  • After Focalors revealed that Furina's act was her plan all along, Neuvillette is positively furious, even for a brief moment, that she never let Furina in on her plan.
  • Focalors' death is an intense moment for both. Neuvillette knows that the only way to restore his full power is by killing her, but he doesn't want to do it after working together for more than 400 years. When Focalors reveals that her plan was preparing her own execution to restore his powers, trusting that Neuvillette would have already developed enough humanity to save Fontaine on his own, Neuvillette is visibly shocked, to the point he physically cries after her death instead of just making it rain. This is significant considering that he has been through 400 years of trials and witnessed tragic demises of people.
  • Furina is familiar enough with Neuvillette's habits that when she wanted to ask him about booking the Opera Epiclese for the theatre troupe in her Story Quest, she guessed correctly where he'd be and was delighted to find out that she was right. After speaking to her, Neuvillette was the one who got Furina to return to the stage after her extended hiatus simply by telling her he admired her performance.
  • In this official collaboration with Hoyoverse, Furina's song La Vaguelette is sung from the perspective of Neuvillette, who praises Furina's courage and resolve despite her fragility, vowing that he will remain by her side in the face of all adversities.
  • In the 2024 Lantern Rite event “Vibrant Harriers Aloft in Spring Breeze”, Neuvillette offers to carry her shopping bag (alongside Clorinde and Navia's stuff) back home. She later asks the Traveler to pass the advice that he he should take more vacations. As a sign of his Character Development, this time he admits to the Traveler that he finally understands her point of exploring the human world.
• Wriothesley and Sigewinne are not only each other's closest partners as the Fortress of Meropide's head administrators, they are comfortably fond of each other.
  • In Act IV, despite having the upper hand over Lyney, the Traveler and Paimon the entire time and being physically competent, he simply stands still and lets an enraged Lyney charge at him just in time for Sigewinne to tranquillise him before a physical confrontation could break out.
  • Their ensuing conversation may come off as teasing Like an Old Married Couple banter:
    Sigewinne: But I really am just doing what Monsieur Neuvillette told me to do! Everything I did, I've done to protect them. Had I not, they would be in far more dire straits right now. His Grace knows it, too. Right? Your Grace? ...Mind proving my innocence to them?
    Wriothesley: ...*sigh* My dear Sigewinne, what ever shall I do with you? Would it have killed you to just wait another minute or two?
    Sigewinne: Well, it's nearly time, after all. The way you do things can be truly frustrating sometimes, Your Grace. I figured I should try to talk some sense into you.
    Paimon: What are you talking about? What time?
    Lyney: Take me if you want... But let them go...
    Wriothesley: How touching. Can you just give me one more minute?
    Sigewinne: Don't be like that, Your Grace.
  • After Charlotte's visit to the Fortress in Act V, Sigewinne expresses to Wriothesley that she'd love to see him in one of Charlotte's photoshoots, saying that the photos would be valuable as keepsakes. Sigewinne then teases him for using Jurieu and Lourvine as distractions to stay out of the spotlight.
• Chiori and Xavier have a Gender Inverted Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl dynamic, with Chiori supporting and encouraging Xavier through resolving the financial difficulties of the The Two Muskeeters production and grounding him with her realist snark when he gets overexcited about being able to film.

Snezhnaya

With the Traveler

• Beyond Tartaglia's suggestive weekly boss dialogue, his personal quest reveals that he's written home about the Traveler so much and in such glowing terms, that his little brother recognizes and trusts them on sight.
  • On several occasions, he mentions wanting to introduce the Traveler to the rest of his family and give them an extended tour of his homeland. The Traveler accepts, at first claiming because they promised Teucer, but when Childe starts making plans in the Serenitea Pot, their dialogue is legitimately excited.

Khaenri'ah

Between Characters

• Dainsleif is particularly shipped with the ruler of the Abyss, as they were implied to be Platonic Life-Partners before a Cynicism Catalyst caused the latter to Face–Heel Turn and made them declare him a traitor.
  • Dainsleif's lines during the Khaenri'ah segment in the Travail trailer where he mentions a girl that he is challenging the Traveler (depicted as Aether, like in most promotional media) over is interpreted/theorized to be referring to Abyss Princess Lumine, especially when the Caribert Archon Quest revealed that the Traveler's Sibling was also the Prince/Princess of Khaenri'ah, makes it seem that Lady and Knight dynamics are in play.
  Dainsleif: Defeat me, command me to step aside, show me that you are worthier than I to rescue her...My memory has all but faded completely...but I will always remember how she too, loved these flowers.
  • In We Will Be Reunited, the Traveler reunites with their sibling for the first time in 500 years, and yet the first thing their sibling is concerned about is Dainsleif's presence by their side, which the Traveler expresses shock over.

Between Characters

• Scaramouche and Mona gained a following after their meeting in v1.1's Unreconciled Stars event. After Mona senses danger from the Harbinger and teleports Fischl, Oz, the Traveler and Paimon away to safety, Scaramouche was intrigued/concerned by Mona's abilities and was going to order his soldiers to find them before another meteorite took his attention. When Mona, the Traveler and Paimon met Scarmouche again, Mona was shaken by Scarmouche's genuine revelation that "The stars, the sky...it's all a giant hoax. A lie" and reevaluates her education in a different light.
• Itto and Yanfei get an interesting dynamic after they meet each other.
  • Somehow, while Itto and Kuki are in Liyue for her graduation certificate, Itto gets in trouble with the law enforcement (as usual) and Yanfei casually saves them from going to jail. Itto is so grateful to her that he follows Yanfei all the way to The Chasm just to see how to thank her, despite Yanfei telling him that he doesn't have to do anything.
  • During "Arataki Blazing Armor Beetle Battle Boot Camp!", to Kuki's surprise, Yanfei immediately agrees to help Itto make his boot camp for Onikabuto just for the fun of it and gets the whole legal process for the event going smooth. Then she also partakes, to Itto's surprise.

The Abyss

With the Traveler

• Enjou, the Abyss Ruler's assistant, has a decent amount of Ship Tease with the Traveler. He's an Affably Evil goof, helping out the Traveler in both the Enkanomiyan World Quest and in the Three Realms Gateway event. While he was ordered to help out in the World Quest, the second time he just helps because he's fond of the Traveler. He expresses a disinterest in his boss saying he prefers the Traveler, and is eager to fight them despite knowing he has no chance at all at victory against them. He also expresses concern for the Traveler's wellbeing, warning them about being so trusting of others who might exploit their goodwill. For 2024's White Day, Enjou got shippy promotional art◊ where he offers the Traveler a flower between his teeth and a wink, happy that the Traveler hasn't forgotten him. He even makes a heart outline with his Pyro powers!
